Unique Egyptian Antiques Ring of Scarab Ancient Khepri Pharaonic Egypt BC
Unique Egyptian Antiques Ring of Scarab Ancient Khepri Pharaonic Egypt BC. Khepri was associated with the scarab or dung beetle, making him one of the most famous insect gods. The Egyptians watched the scarab beetle rolling dung into a ball and pushing it along the ground to its burrow. The Egyptians made a connection between the movement of the sun across the sky and the movement of the ball of dung pushed by the beetle. The solar connection was enhanced by the fact that the scarab has antenna on its head and when the scarab pushed a ball of dung along the ground, the ball would sit between the antenna in a way that was reminiscent of the solar disc flanked by a pair of horns which was worn by many deities. One myth suggested that Khepri pushed the sun across the sky (rather than the sun travelling on the back of a bovine goddess like Nut or Hathor or travelling on a boat). Khepri was often depicted pushing the sun ahead of him and it was thought that this movement was constant. Every night, Khepri would push the sun down into the underworld, and every morning the sun would again emerge and travel across the sky. The word “kheper” means “to emerge” or “to come into being”. The female scarab would lay her eggs in the burrow with the dung and her young would feed on the dung until they were ready to emerge. As Shown At Pictures. Islamic Bronze Pilgrimage Ring Madina Devotional Type Mamluk Ayyubid Period
Islamic Bronze Pilgrimage Ring Madina Devotional Type Mamluk Ottoman Period. Authenticity Notice Guaranteed authentic historic artifact. Comes with a Certificate of Authenticity from Affordable Ancients. Details Period: Islamic Date: c. 14th-18th century AD Culture: Mamluk to early Ottoman period Material: Bronze Type: Pilgrimage / devotional ring Ring Size: 6 Bezel: Plain oval devotional bezel Condition: Intact with historic wear. Overview Authentic Islamic bronze pilgrimage ring associated with Madina al-Munawwara devotional traditions, dating to the Mamluk-Ottoman transitional period. Rings of this type were worn by pilgrims, travelers, and devotees as personal objects of blessing, remembrance, and spiritual protection rather than as formal signet seals. The emphasis of such rings lies in association and intention, not inscription clarity. During the Mamluk and Ottoman periods, pilgrimage objects-including rings, pendants, beads, and tokens-were commonly acquired during journeys to major holy cities and retained as lifelong devotional items. These objects often show heavy smoothing, surface abrasion, and softened edges consistent with repeated touch and long-term wear. Authenticity Check The ring exhibits correct bronze composition, simple cast form, worn oval bezel, natural surface oxidation, and patina consistent with genuine late medieval to early modern Islamic pilgrimage jewelry. The construction and wear patterns align with known devotional rings rather than later decorative reproductions. Comparable Examples Comparable Islamic pilgrimage rings of plain or lightly marked type are documented in museum and private collections focusing on devotional material culture of the late medieval and early Ottoman Islamic world. Islamic Seals and Amulets. Pilgrimage and Material Culture in the Islamic World. Condition Good historic condition. Structurally intact with expected devotional wear.

As with all items in this collection, this artifact is. And will be accompanied by a. Certificate of Authenticity and Provenance. Detailing typology, dating, region, and collection history. Crusader Order Bronze Signet Ring Eagle and Shield Templar Era 1100AD Authentic Antiquity. Authenticity Notice Guaranteed authentic medieval bronze signet ring from the Crusader period. Acquired from an old European collection. Details Culture: Crusader / Latin Christian Order Date: Circa 11th-12th century AD Material: Bronze Type: Heraldic signet ring Ring Size: 9-9.5 Bezel: Rectangular shield form Condition: Complete, strong relief, ancient wear. Overview This powerful medieval bronze signet ring displays formal Crusader heraldic symbolism executed in a bold, early style. The rectangular shield bezel is flanked by deeply incised eagle imagery on the shoulders – a symbol of authority, vigilance, and divine favor widely used in Crusader and knightly order contexts. The band further incorporates raised dot motifs and linear framing, elements commonly associated with martial identity, rank, and oath-bound brotherhood. The ring’s heavy construction, angular bezel, and integrated heraldic program strongly indicate use by a member of a Crusader military order or knightly retinue, rather than a civilian owner. Rings of this type functioned as personal seals, authority markers, and status identifiers, used to authenticate documents and assert allegiance. Authenticity Check The ring exhibits correct medieval bronze fabric, hand-cut decorative elements, casting irregularities, and long-term wear consistent with genuine Crusader-period use. Patination, corrosion, and edge rounding are natural and uninterrupted. No modern tooling, casting seams, or artificial aging are present. Iconography and construction align with documented Crusader and Templar-era signet rings. Comparable Examples Comparable Crusader order signet rings with eagle symbolism and shield bezels are preserved in major collections such as the British Museum and other medieval European institutional holdings, catalogued as knightly or military order rings of the Crusader era. Further Reading Egan & Pritchard, Medieval Finds from Excavations in London Oakeshott, Arms and Armour of the Crusading Era British Museum Collection Online. Condition Very good for type. Devices remain clearly legible with honest medieval wear and stable patina.
