Antique 1827 Grandfather Clock Moon Dial Face Longcase British Flag 1800’s Tall

I almost never grow an attachment to “things”. But this one is hard to give up. Before I go into the details. I want prospective buyers to know that I have more photos and can take more photos. This clock is AMAZING. I think this shows all of the expertise and quality of a piece crafted in 1827. There is a note on inside door that says clock made or repaired by R. Cashell Aug 14, 1827. There are also handwritten notes on the inside door that document the 1827 date. But please “judge” this by the construction and quality of the piece. The pendulum is detached from the clock. This will need repaired. I don’t know if this is a working clock. There were about 15 antique clocks for sale at that time. I just did not want to start turning things and mess something up. But if you know what I should move… Just let me know and I can pass that info to you. I would feel comfortable in assuming that someone took very good care of this. There is glass on all 3 sides of the top pieces. The glass has that “wavy glass” quality. Top brass finial is removable. The Weights are very unique. They weigh about 10 pounds each and are filled with some type of sand. Exterior of weight is some type of metal that has been crimped closed at top. Brass or bronze I would think. The moon face is so awesome. There is a scratch line running through some of the paint as you can see in photos. Don’t think this will be too hard to touch up as the scratch does not go through the moon face/eyes. Top portion has a wood inlay decorative oval. This top portion looks like it may have been repaired. See line in photo # 8. Repair looks professional to me and very good. I don’t have a key for the door. And Door Closes slightly askew. There is a “facade” (outer wood covering) of one of the legs that needs tacked back into position. See photo number 10. Height is 86.5″ without finial and 92″ including finial. Width is 20.25. Depth is 12.25. Please read my feedback and you will see that you have no worries. 36 Star American Flag CIVIL War Era Original Antique

Excellent gift for the American History enthusiast. Original period American flag of 36 stars. Printed on cotton muslin, this flag measures 8 x 11 1/8 inches. The six rows of six stars are in a dancing pattern pointing in all directions. The orange tint of the stripes is indicative of 1860s vintage. The 36 star flag was official from 1865 through 1867 during the presidential term of Andrew Johnson. Since Nevada, the 36th state was admitted to the Union in in October of 1864 undoubtedly many flagmakers anticipated the official date of the following July 4 and produced these during Abraham Lincoln’s final months in office. This flag is in good condition with light wear from age, especially in the blue canton near the location where it was attached to a stick. It is an excellent small size for framing as part of a Civil War relic collection, a displ. Ay regarding Abraham Lincoln, or any historical collection regarding the history of mid 19th century America. Regarding the star pattern, there was no established pattern for stars in the American flag until 1916. The 6×6 arrangement was common for 36 star flags, and the stars could all point in one direction, or all stars in each row could point in one direction and alternate row by row, or all stars could point in random directions, as in this example. The photos are an integral part of my description. They will give an accurate representation, and best tell the story. A 25-star American Flag, hand stitched. Hand stitched stars on both sides, and stripes, except for what appears to be a machine stitched line. On sleeve, and inscribed E. The 25-Star Flag: This Flag became the Official United States Flag on July 4th, 1836. A star was added for the admission of Arkansas (June 15th, 1836) and was to last for just one year. 38 Star Antique Vintage American Flag with Medallion Pattern. Capitol Flown

Size: 104 x 175. Flag retains its original rope and metal rings for flying. Star field has minimal wear. There is an area of fabric loss within the center star roughly. Mild staining on the top stripe. Info: Previous owner’s. Grandmother was Lita Harrington Beck, her Uncle was John W. John left the flag to Lita. She left the flag to his Father George H. Beck who in-turn left it to him. As the family story went – John Wesley Digger was either the Governor or Lt. Governor of Pennsylvania, and flag was flown over the State Capitol Building. The pattern on this flag is gorgeous. Very helpful sources have told me the flag may likely have been made by the Loanes company out of Baltimore.
