On the ear piece it reads Kellogg USA. The ear piece is in good condition with no sings of any breaks or cracks. The wooden ring box has a few markings but overall, is in really good condition. Here is a nice early 1950, s Maple or light walnut Wood Payphone Booth with a WE rotary 3 slot payphone model # 223G and a working dome lite and blower when door is closed. The booth is in very good condition. The inside porcelain enamel interior is excellent with no scratches or abrasions. The outside panels show the patina of a 70 year old booth as the pictures show. The left and right side outer panels also have lower brass kick plates. Sometime in its life a directory book was installed with a chain with a shelf on one of the sides. The payphone also makes the chimes when quarters, dimes, nickels are inserted. Both the dome light and air circulating blower work when the door is closed. The upper dome light and blower door control parts are original as can be seen in the pictures. 83″ high by 29″ wide by 31 deep. Has to be picked up. PLEASE ASK ANY QUESTIONS. Obviously designed to block outside noises. Each wall, as well as the door, is constructed of an inside panel and an outside panel with an air chamber separating the two. This “double layer” construction pertains to the windows as well. Each window is made from two panels separated by an air space. The entire booth breaks down into 6 pieces. 4 walls, a top and a bottom. All hinges and hardware are brass and original. Measures 47″ x 42″ x 82 High approx. Believed to be only the second owner. I procured this from the factory floor where we believe it was originally installed. I have had this in my possession about 40 years. It’s in overall terrific shape. Although it’s an outdoor booth, it may well have been used indoors, because it doesn’t show a lot of weathering. The overhead light is intact and works-we lit it up for the movie. Everything about this is original, including the GTE decals on either side glass. The floor is gray painted plywood, and is not original in any way. It was installed by the film to make certain that booth didn’t flex while being moved. It works, really well. This booth has been sitting in my backyard for a few years, and there is dirt from being outdoors. It’s not bad, and the structure itself is in great condition. These are really hard to find…. Which you already know, if you’re looking at this! The moment they lay hands on it, it becomes your responsibility. He believed the local telephone operator was directing all business calls to his competitor, who also happened to be her husband. Dial service in 1891, thereby eliminating the need for an operator intervention in local calls. The hook is perfectly straight. The dial has a bright and vibrant reproduction number overlay if you choose. The wood has been refinished to bring out its natural beauty. The accordion door, when closed, activates a fan and a light. They both turn on automatically, however the fan can be turned off with a switch. Both are in fully functional order. The right side (when facing it) is fully finished, and the left side is finished with a frame only – where an advertisement or bulletin board would go inside. The frame is currently empty. You can see the shortening, vent, and frame damage in the photos. The interior and doors are in fantastic shape – everything works well, moves smoothly, and looks great. We have had it in our home for over 40 years, as a fixture of both our basement recreation area and our family room throughout the decades. It’s a much-loved piece that has always been a favorite of friends and family. We are downsizing and do not have room anymore, so unfortunately need to part with this unique piece.
