A NUREMBERG BRASS ALMS REPOUSSE’ DISH This is a 19th century, (repoussé) ancient. A NUREMBERG BRASS ALMS REPOUSSE’ 16-inch DISH. This is a 19th century, (repoussé) ancient metalworking technique where the artist hammers the design out from the back of the metal sheet. This is perfect for a wine cellar or wine space in your home. It brings an old-world charm to the history of wine. It is depicting the Thieves or Spies of Canaan, they are Joshua and Caleb carrying grapes, within the inscription’Ave Gratia Plena Anno Domini 1503′. The English translation is “Hail Mary full of grace, in the year of our lord 1503″ and a decorative border. 16 inches in diameter. This was in my wine cellar and we have recently moved.
