Horus Egyptian Store Ancient Egyptian Antiquities white Egyptian Key of life RARE Egyptian mythology Marvelous white marble ankh the Egyptian Key of life-Hand made unique simple of long life-good luck -ancient Egyptian mythology, Egyptian deities. It’s handcrafted by skilled Egyptian hands. An Egyptian hieroglyph that symbolizes life The ankh or the key to life is an ancient Egyptian hieroglyphic symbol that was used in writing and art to represent the word “life” and, therefore, as a symbol of life itself. Its use continued through the Coptic Egyptians who adapted it as the crux ansata which is a version of the Christian cross with a circular ring similar to the ankh ring. The ankh The sign has the shape of a cross but with an oval ring in place of the top bar. The origins of the symbol are unknown, although several hypotheses have been proposed. It was used in writing as a triple sign, representing a sequence of three letters A-N-KH. This sequence can be found in many Egyptian words, including the words for “mirror, ” “bouquet, ” and life. The symbol often appears in physical form and represents life or substances such as air or water. It was especially popular in the hands of the gods, or given by them to the pharaoh, to represent their power to preserve life and revive human souls in the afterlife. It was one of the most common motifs in ancient Egypt and was adopted by neighboring cultures as a work of art. Since the late 20th century, in the Western world, the symbol has come to be used decoratively, as a symbol of African cultural identity, neo-pagan belief systems, and Gothic culture. Condition: Good Condition As shown in pictures. Provenance: Stone in the Desert of the Egyptian City of Luxor.

Antique Bristol Semi-Opaque Glass Vase – pair of Hand-Blown Hand Painted Opaline White Glass Mantle Vases 1800s Flower Vase home decor Bristol glasshouses were established in the 1740s. They specialized in decanters, goblets and vases, usually in a cobalt-like blue color decorated with gilding or in opaque white. From this beginning, most colored glass made in Britain became known by the generic term of “Bristol” glass, although not all of it was actually made in Bristol. Of these glasses, the Bristol blue is the most famous. As time went on, a type of semi-opaque Opaline glass was made around Bristol. Wilson’s vases are from that period. So much Bristol glass was made during the 18th and 19th centuries, and it was so inexpensive that it contributed to the end of many glasshouses in America. It is very difficult to distinguish the English Bristol from other opaline types. Style, design and decoration are clues for the knowledgeable. Manufactured in the late 19th century, Victorian Bristol glass is appreciated for its delicately hand-painted botanical motifs; the more finely executed the decoration, the more desirable the piece. With a beautifully ornate design these vases are quite simple – beautiful! Each of these vases was decorated in blue, gold and a white in a simply ornate pattern. They measure 12-5/8″ in height, 3-7/8″ across the rim and has a 4-1/8 base diameter. For being more than 100 plus years old – they are in amazing antique condition – even the dimensional design work is still intact! There is slight gold gilt wear on the rim – presumably from flower stems, cleaning and water – but other than that there are no chips, cracks scratches, repairs or crazing! Whether for the new collector or the connoisseur, these beautiful vases will be a lovely addition to your antique glassware or authentic Bristol Glass collection!!
