Up for sale is a magnificent, rare piece of late 19th-century Tobacciana. Details & Features: Design: Art Nouveau figural Borzoi Russian wolfhound motif wrapped seamlessly around the handle and cutting body. Mechanism: Steel blade designed to produce a clean, tradition “V-shaped” cut. Spring-loaded cutter integrated into the base with a functional plunger and steel blade. Approximate Dimensions: 6″ Long x 1.25″ Wide x 1 High, Origin: Commonly produced by European makers (such as German or Austrian manufacturers) during the late Victorian and Edwardian periods as functional pocket or desk tobacciana. Condition: Mechanism: The internal spring-loaded V-cutter mechanism is fully operational, snaps back and does not stick. Cosmetics: The piece is in honest, untouched antique condition. Hand-enameled purple bellflower/campanula decoration with green and blue foliage and yellow gilt accents. Original gilt-brass collar with rope-detail borders, barrel hinge and figure-eight clasp. Unsigned, so attribution is based on closely documented Legras examples and period construction. Very good antique condition with expected age-related wear/patina to metal and minor surface wear. No chips or cracks noted.

Designed around 1905, with pattern number 1034. Friedrich Adler 1878 – c. July 1942 [Auschwitz] was a Jewish-German artist, designer and academic. He was renowned for his accomplishments in designing metalwork in the Art Nouveau and Art deco styles. In very good antique condition? Loss to gilt as shown in photos? No dents or breaks. A gorgeous antique Art Nouveau era accessory set comprising a belt buckle and 6 buttons. Made of ormolu brass, they are enamelled with a very beautiful flowers and ladybirds pattern in guilloche enamel. The ble and bright enamels are really vivid, my pictures just don’t do the set justice, it is stunning in person. The buckle measures 3.5x6cm, the buttons are 1.4cm in diameter. The set comes in its original silk and velvet box. Condition: the hat pins are missing from the set; one button has a slight wear to the enamel on the side; generally the set is in excellent condition, the items appear to have never been used; please refer to the photos for detail.
