Antique Bristol Semi-Opaque Glass Vase – pair of Hand-Blown Hand Painted Opaline White Glass Mantle Vases 1800s Flower Vase home decor Bristol glasshouses were established in the 1740s. They specialized in decanters, goblets and vases, usually in a cobalt-like blue color decorated with gilding or in opaque white. From this beginning, most colored glass made in Britain became known by the generic term of “Bristol” glass, although not all of it was actually made in Bristol. Of these glasses, the Bristol blue is the most famous. As time went on, a type of semi-opaque Opaline glass was made around Bristol. Wilson’s vases are from that period. So much Bristol glass was made during the 18th and 19th centuries, and it was so inexpensive that it contributed to the end of many glasshouses in America. It is very difficult to distinguish the English Bristol from other opaline types. Style, design and decoration are clues for the knowledgeable. Manufactured in the late 19th century, Victorian Bristol glass is appreciated for its delicately hand-painted botanical motifs; the more finely executed the decoration, the more desirable the piece. With a beautifully ornate design these vases are quite simple – beautiful! Each of these vases was decorated in blue, gold and a white in a simply ornate pattern. They measure 12-5/8″ in height, 3-7/8″ across the rim and has a 4-1/8 base diameter. For being more than 100 plus years old – they are in amazing antique condition – even the dimensional design work is still intact! There is slight gold gilt wear on the rim – presumably from flower stems, cleaning and water – but other than that there are no chips, cracks scratches, repairs or crazing! Whether for the new collector or the connoisseur, these beautiful vases will be a lovely addition to your antique glassware or authentic Bristol Glass collection!! Hello and thank you for taking your time to view our listing. Kroeber Branded Victorian style mantle clock from Europe. Clock appears exactly as shown in all photos with this listing. Clock has the original glass hinged front door. Clock will run for a short period of time and does chime on the hour and on the half hour, however clock does not run very long before stopping. Could just need a good cleaning and refurbishing on the inside. Do not see anything broken on the inside, and clock will accurately chimed when placed on the each hour. We do not have key, however it is a common sized antique winding clock key, we do have one here that goes with a clock we personally own, so we have it wound currently. You will see this exact clock on another online site in exact non running condition for fourteen hundred dollars. Clock is made of metal and wood and weighs about 15lbs total. Clock stands 15 inches in height, is 10 inches left to right, and is 4 inches front to back, weighs about 15lbs. Ansonia Outside Escapement Porcelain Shelf / Mantle Clock In Royal Bonn Case

Estate fresh from a wealthy Oklahoma “oily” estate. This style case is several levels above your average “China” clock. The case is marked Royal Bonn, Germany. ” The case is marked “La Vendee and has several factory numbers and signing on the reverse of the case. The movement is well signed, has the Ansonia “A”, as well as the name spelled out. Apparently, the movement was made in New York and is so signed. Tran Duy Ly dates this clock Ca. 1904 in his book Ansonia Clocks and Watches. Tran shows three decoration variations. The clock strikes the hour and half hour on a gong, using a sounding board to improve the sound quality. The 5 porcelain dial is a two piece; designed to expose the outside escapement. The case has a beveled glass, and the original rear dust cover. There have some well done minor repairs to the clock. Please study the photos, because the pics are part of the description. Antique Rare A. Frankfield Mantle Cuckoo Clock 1866

Rare antique American made mantle cuckoo clock. Case was made by the A. New York city, 8-day movement was made by Waterbury Clock Co. In 1866 into the 1870s. The Frankfield patent was granted in 1866 and Waterbury Clock Co was given the order for producing the modified open spring movement, with an extra lever to handle the 2 bellows. These were actually the first American made cuckoos, both cases and movements made in the US. The bonus is the week duration, as most German shelf cuckoos run only a day or 2. The movement is signed A. Frankfield with the patent date of April 24, 1866. The dimensions of the case are: 20 1/2″ height c 12 1/2″ wide x 7 depth. Clock case has crack running along top and a portion of two leafs are missing, all seen in photos. Clock runs great but cuckoo side does not work (broken spring) also hands and antlers are not original to the clock. The item “Antique Rare A.
