Rare antique American made mantle cuckoo clock. Case was made by the A. New York city, 8-day movement was made by Waterbury Clock Co. In 1866 into the 1870s. The Frankfield patent was granted in 1866 and Waterbury Clock Co was given the order for producing the modified open spring movement, with an extra lever to handle the 2 bellows. These were actually the first American made cuckoos, both cases and movements made in the US. The bonus is the week duration, as most German shelf cuckoos run only a day or 2. The movement is signed A. Frankfield with the patent date of April 24, 1866. The dimensions of the case are: 20 1/2″ height c 12 1/2″ wide x 7 depth. Clock case has crack running along top and a portion of two leafs are missing, all seen in photos. Clock runs great but cuckoo side does not work (broken spring) also hands and antlers are not original to the clock. The item “Antique Rare A. Antique C 1900 Black Forest Cuckoo Quail Clock Made in Germany for Sears Roebuck. This cuckoo quail clock measures 20 1/4″ H and 15″ W at the roof. It works fine and has a nice mellow Sound. Strikes on two mellow wire gongs as well as cuckoo and quail calls. The cuckoo bellows will need to be changed at some point. They work now, but are quite old. The top bird had broken off his perch at one time, but has been repaired and repair is not obvious. Otherwise there is a little chip missing off a leaf on the pendulum as well as on the bottom center leaf. The pendulum is unusual with an acorn and leaves. Hands are early celluloid hands and I believe they are original. Cast brass movement stamped Sears Roebuck and Co. This model 509 Futures the fence grape Vines and grapes done in beautiful detail with the butterfly on top the clock is 16″ Tall x 10″ Wide x 6.75 Deep. Its a beautiful collector clock. The clock has no missing pieces and is in fabulous shape and runs beautifully. It has the traditional double doors with an extraordinarily large cuckoo bird, it comes out beautifully, sounds beautiful and has a deep soft sound, keeps fabulous time and is a very strong Runner. It is a 50 hour clock. It has new leather Bellow tops, movement cleaned, oiled case cleaned and waxed. It even retains its original advertising stickers which I find most surprising about this clock. Up for sale is an 1800’s Black Forest Antique Quail Cuckoo Clock. It has two Cuckoos. One chimes every 15 minutes and other chimes on the hour. The motion is original and in great shape and works perfectly. The inlaid wood is in great shape and looks terrific. Everything on the clock works and functions wonderfully except for the following: The minute hand has broken off and I can’t find it. I also lost the pendulum. Luckily, those things can be replaced. The Clock is bigger than the average Cuckoo Clock. This clock is 16″ wide by 20″ tall by 6 deep. Everything except for the repaired baffle-paper is original on this clock. Up for sale is this fantastic antique Black Forest Table Cuckoo Clock Case. The clock has several pencil markings including one in a door 30/8/86 Morath. It also has a partial Morath Brothers label on the interior of the backboard. The number 491 is written on the verso of the ornately Carved front, on the backboard and on the interior of the case. I can’t make a definitive statement on the Maker, I’m just not an expert in this area. It very easily could be by Jean Baptiste Beha or a contemporary of his. Measures about 18 1/2″ x 14″. It does have Old repairs to the top deer’s head which was reattached and about a 7″ x 3″ section at the bottom center looks to have broken off and been glued back in place, there is a visible chip missing from that damage as well. Looks like some loss to the top deer ears, winding arbor holes filled, some damage and soiling to numbers, one door looks replaced. There is also some general aging and expected wear. I have many more pictures of the markings, damage & repairs, and details as well. Please view all 12 photos to help judge condition. Not shown in these pictures are holes added to the bottom to accommodate a Weight Driven chain movement and pendulum. Antique Black Forest cuckoo clock w/ wood plate 30 hour movement, circa 1860. Clock runs but will not cuckoo. Highly carved case has some issues but you would to if you were 160 years old. As seen in photos there are missing. To the leafs that decorate the case there is also split to the lower trellis as well and one of the bellows has a tear. Antique German Black Forest Shelf Mantel Cuckoo Clock. This clock has been cleaned and oiled and tested to ensure working excellent. The clock when wound runs for about 3 days. I think it’s a 7 or 8 day so 3 days is less than what it should be. The cuckoo bird door has been adjusted and may need repair at some point in the future. Please review all photos. As with any clock there may need minor adjustments required when it reaches your home. The clock measures approximately 20 1/2″ tall x 7″ deep x 11 1/2 wide. The clock hands are bone and one of the hands has been very well repaired. The original key hole bone trim is still present. The crown is a custom hand carved reproduction which was hand stained to beautifully match the clock trim. The clock has a cuckoo/gong chime on the hour and half hour. The cuckoo looks original and in working condition. There is an original label on the back of the clock. The winding key is included.
