Art Deco Ronson Clock (Large Face) Touch Tip Lighter – Figure 190 – Very Rare. Figure 190 in the Ronson book by Urban Cummings. This version is much rarer than figure 182 (TT and Watch Combination). Please review the pics closely, as they show the condition. Overall a very nice example of this rare and desirable Ronson Touch Tip lighter. The clock had worked for years of me owning it, but now has stopped. I’m sure it’s just a matter of lubricating it. It just sat on my shelf for years. The “lighter” mechanism also could use a cleaning/lubrication job. It’s mechanically perfect but it could use a replacement flint. It sparked properly for years but now doesn’t. I probably just wore the flint out playing with it. The automatic match mechanism still works properly. The original match stick is nice, straight and in good overall condition, though it needs a proper replacement w. I always intended to go over this myself, as I collected lighters for decades and LOVE Art Deco. I consider this one as perhaps the best out of my collection. Now, my life situation has changed, so I’ll pass it onto another collector. An awesome “lighter, ” seen in the movie “The Maltese Falcon, ” back when it was still being offered by Ronson. AWESOME JAMES SWAN SET! Woodworking Chisels Cast Steel Antique Vintage Socket
From my personal collection, sadly. I truly love this set of chisels, but it is time to move on. These are a real treasure and I know that you will love and cherish them as I have. This is an absolutely EPIC set of early James Swan chisels! The markings on this set lead me to believe it is one of the earliest sets offered by the James Swan Company. The handles are not original. I made them out of applewood, which was the high end handle material offered by James Swan at the time. I made them to the original specifications, so they are exactly the handles that the set would have had new. They are individually hand fitted to the chisel sockets for a perfect, tight fit. The blades have some pitting. They have been flattened and sharpened with water stones and are absolutely Scary – Shaving – Sharp! I should note here that these chisels have a slight bow. This is not a defect! They were made that way so that fine paring work can be performed without the handle hitting the wood surface. I have restored many antique chisel sets by many old makers and they were all made this way. It is so very rare to find a set in the original box with the interior labeling. Even a search in the mighty GOOGLE engine will not reveal the existence of a finer set of James Swan Chisels.
