This listing is for a rare 17th century bronze candle holder. I found this candle holder at an estate sale in Griffin, GA. It’s 6.25 inches tall, 3.5 inches wide, and weighs 1 lb 4 oz. Antique 17th Century DATED 1682 Our Lady of Guadalupe Michael Archangel Medal

All our listed items are original Christian devotionals. Some may have been cleaned or polished before their arrival, by their last caretaker. Their use is for personal devotion. Please note, the medal is offered for sale, not the pictures. This medal is from the estate collection of Miguel Darío Miranda y Gómez (December 19, 1895 – March 15, 1986) who was a Mexican Cardinal of the Roman Catholic Church. He served as Archbishop of Mexico City from 1956 to 1977 and was elevated to the cardinalate in 1969. In the late 17th century, the Bishop of Mexico authorized a Catholic devotional medal of Our Lady of Guadalupe. A limited number of those medals were minted in Rome and used as gifts for wealthy Catholic patrons. This one of those medals. This medal is 2 inches long and weighs 33 grams of bronze. It is dated 1682 as you can see at the feet of the Virgin of Guadalupe in the posted pictures. This medals dating can be confirmed on pages 2 & 3 of the book AN INTRODUCTION TO RELIGIOUS MEDALS, by Bob Forrest, and published by NUMISMATICA INTERNATIONAL in 2004. In addition this book has chapters (outlined in the table of contents), describing each of the categories of medals, their possible place of pilgrimage (acquisition), and origin of the mint where they were made. Antique Dutch Baroque Ebonized Picture Frame Historic BEERS BROTHER 17th century

This attractive and historically important gilt and ebonized wood cabinet maker’s frame was re-purposed in the late 1800’s to house an old master oil using period moldings from the 1600’s with additions from the1800’s. The current surface is from the 1800’s and the frame measures 19 1/4″ x 16″ overall with 10 7/8″ x 9 5/8″ rabbet (13 3/4″ x 10 5/8″ rabbet without inner frame) and 10 1/4″ x 7 1/8″ reveal (13 1/2″ x 10 1/8″ without inner frame). It is sturdy and shows some old chips with old touch-up and VERY minor worming. Beers Brothers were an important framing studio who were also known as purveyors of old master paintings. Their framing often incorporated period moldings that were custom fit to period art works of the same era. Crafted from a deer horn, 17th century, provenance: North Romania (Transylvania). Similar items are found in museums from Romania. The rings are from brass. The model is specific of its time and is hand engraved. Guaranteed original authentic 100%. Heigth: 7.9 inches (20 cm). Bottom width: 6.3 inches (16 cm). Antique crab claw rapier sword with a Solingen blade – 1st half 17th century Double edged straight blade with one fuller both sides. In one fuller is etched “SOLINGEN”. In the second fuller can be read “MEFECIT”. Just before “MEFECIT”, more letters are etched but impossible to read. It probably was the name of the sword maker. Pommel and filigree wire are a late replacement. The guard has a very slight movement. The whole thing is strong and solid. Total length 96,5cm (38 inches). Blade length 82cm (32 1/4 inches).
