KINGDOM OF SERBIA ROYAL. Grip in dark horn. Astonishing level of details. The D guard is not common on M1895 Serbian swords, widh are usually mounted with a larger basket type of guard. The guard looks a lot like the M1861 austrian type. But I’m sure that this is not a recent put toghether sword as the patina appears uniform and the material of the guard and the rest of the fittings is the same. First one seen like that. Perhaps a special ordered piece or a prototype maybe. The strong pipe back b lade is in mint condition, with wonderful folliage engravings on both sides. Serbinan Coat of arms egraved on both sides. On one side there is an inscription: “Fabrica de Solingen 1895″ Maker mark and logo: WK&C. Metal Scabbard with some dings and a period reparation. EXTREMELY RARE PIECE OF HISTORY. Total lenght in scabbard: 101 cm. Blade leght : 82,5 cm. Blade is 2,4 cm wide. ALL STRONG AND FIRM.. NOTHING LOOSE OR WEAK. MINTY JUMONJI YARI WWII Japanese Samurai Sword WW2 NIHONTO Shin Gunto SPEAR. SWORDS AND WHOLE COLLECTIONS! The blade represents the opportunity to own a rare and historic polearm from the Shinto period. The blade and the mounts are in Near MINT condition. The blade is a jumonji yari , a tri-pointed spear popular with samurai fighting during the Sengoku period of Japanese civil wars. It has a blade length of 9.5 inches (24cm), a blade width of 3.5 inches (9cm) and a tang with a length of 11 inches (28cm). The hada is a wood-grained itame hada that mixes with a straight masame hada. The hamon is a straight suguha. The tang is mumei, or unsigned, but shows remnants of a signature that ends with the kanji Yuki. Based on the shape and workmanship, this yari looks to date the mid to late 1600s. The mountings include an original and long ebu , or staff, the polearm fits into. It is 36 inches (91cm) long. The staff features a well-implemented customized black and silver swirled lacquer. It shows few scratches, cracks, or loose wraps, retaining roughly 95-97% of its original finish. There is also a rare maroon lacquered cover for the blade. The cover is in Near MINT condition and features an imperial Kiri mon. The blade is in Near MINT condition. It shows no nicks, few if any spots of rust, and a few scratches along its length. There is one small lateral ware near the tang. There are no major flaws like hagire. Given the the rarity of a desirable jumonji yari with staff, as well as the history and craftsmanship of the yari, I highly recommend this piece for a collector of WW2 militaria or Japanese swords. Due to the length, the cost may be higher than the quoted estimate on this listing. Terms and additional items: This item is original and not a knockoff or fake. Here is a recent estate find. This is a Rare Antique Authentic 1865 U. Civil War Light Cavalry Sword with Original Scabbard, made by the Mansfield & Lamb Co. This Has a Brass Basket Cross Guard (Marked 45) with Wood Handle. The Sword Blade is in Good Original Condition, and Signed By The Maker “Mansfield & Lamb Forestdale RI” on One Side, And Signed by the Inspector US C. Wilson and Dated 1865, On The Other Side. This Sword is in Overall Very Good Original Condition with a Wonderful Aged Patina. The Wood Handle Has Some Stress Cracks From Age, Condition As Pictured! The Sword measures approx. 41″ Long with a 35″ Blade. The Total Length of the Sword in Scabbard is 42 1/2. The Scabbard is the Original Steel Metal Scabbard with Two Loops and Faded Gilt Patina. It is in Good Original Condition with a Couple Dings, As Pictured. The Sword Slides Nicely In and Out of the Scabbard! The Blade is Clean, with Normal wear From Age.
