This a restoration project, but I do not think it is big one. Seems to be complete, or at close to it. Powers on, but no sound coming out. Finish shows age, wear, staining and patina. Here is a recent estate find. This is a Rare Antique Working 19th C. Ingraham “Dew Drop Calendar” Round Top Short Drop Walnut Regulator School House Wall Clock, made by the E. Ingraham Clock Company USA, circa 1880. This Has a Walnut Wood Case with Round Bevelled Doors and Decorative Side Trim with Reverse Painted Glass Gold Gilt Trim Lower Tablet. This Has a Signed Ingraham 8 Day Brass Mechanical Wind-Up “Time Only” Regulator Calendar Movement. The Dial is the Original Paper Over Tin Dial Calendar Dial with Roman Numerals. The Original Ingraham Maker’s Label for this Model “Dew Drop Calendar”, is on the Back. This includes the Adjustable Heavy Brass Ornate Regulator Pendulum, and a Winding Key. This is in Overall Good Original Condition with a Great Aged Patina! The Dial has Some Discoloration From Age, Otherwise Fine. I will start out with the minus items for the clock. The tablet in the door is not original and is a copy of the Masonic tablet, looks good. The upper back board “might” not be original, it is old but the color is a little lighter than the lower part. Other than that it is all good. Original movement, splat (eagle) and columns have original stenciling, original dial and hands. Clock stands total of 30 1/2 inches. Any questions please ask. Be “on the Ball” with this working historic clock from the Balls Watch Company/Seth Thomas. It has faint pencil marks on the back panel that possibly tell something about where it came from but are too faded to read. Look close at the close up of the back panel and you’ll see the faint writing. It appears to be original and untouched. The original Balls label is intact and covering the original Seth Thomas label. This clock has its natural age and was obviously used somewhere. Some of the brass pieces that secure the glass to the brass have come off causing the glass to be loose when the dial door is open. At least one of the brass brackets that came off was saved inside the clock, possibly more, I have not taken the clock apart and will not. The pendulum has a small dent in the center. The pendulum swings and keeps time but hasn’t been tested again Im not familiar with clocks. I love the historic authentic look of this clock. To any collector this clock needs no introduction because it is one of the most collectible clocks. Ball’s Watch company is connected to the American railroads and the first time that keeping accurate time across the country became imperative and Balls was the company that made this happen. This company was hired by a number of Railroads to provide accurate time. His Clocks were selected from the finest American clock makers such as Seth Thomas. Mr Ball improved the clock to his Railroad standards and resold them under his own name. These clocks are becoming harder to find. If you don’t know the the history of the Ball Watch Comapny then look it up and you’ll quickly learn how awesome this clock is. I will gladly give more pictures or info if needed.
