Nice Lot of 8 Very Rare EXCELLENT CONDITION EDISON CYLINDER RECORDINGS, ALL IN EXCELLENT PLAYABLE CONDITION, With Original Antique EDISON Cylinder Cases. Scans show it all….. Nice large lot of 8 original cylinder recordings. EARLY ANTIQUE Edison BLUE AMBEROL type. Very early style and the 4 minute Blue Amberol are among the rarest of all Edison cylinders. EACH HAS ITS OWN ORIGINAL CARDBOARD CONTAINER, with information and Edison’s face, etc. These recordings are made to be used with a 4 minute Edison cylinder player that takes the blue amberol cylinders. These cylinders are all in absolutely excellent condition. They look just like the day they were made and all are quite playable. VERY DIFFICULT TO FIND THEM IN THIS CONDITION ANYWHERE ANYMORE!! The cases are also in very good to excellent condition, except most are missing the tops. Recordings in the lot are: That’s How I Need You, #1589. “The Dear Old Songs of Long Ago”, #2522. “O What Wonderful Things One Little Girl Can Do (Fields)”, #3257. “Marches & Reels (Highlanders Bagpipe Band)”, #23008. “A Little Love, A Little Kiss”, #3468; “Special Scenes That are Brightest – Fantasia”; “Witch of the Wave Medley”, #4161; and “Wialae Paka’s Hawaiians”, #1915. This lot contains the nicest BLUE AMBEROL Edison cylinders that I have ever seen. Antique Edison cylinders are often very fragile and scratched now, but the ones in this lot ARE JUST LIKE THE DAY THEY WERE MADE!!!! The best I have ever seen for sale. These are from a very early collection. They are real early items for display in a collection, or can still be played on a period Edison machine. 1923 VV-80 Victor Victrola Antique Phonograph Cabinet Record Player. This plays “78” speed records. The sound on these is awesome, literally sounds like a loud speaker. If you are not a phonograph person and just want a nice antique statement/conversation piece and/or a very unique piece of history just to play your records on, this is for you. Feel free to send a message with any questions at all. Works and sounds great, loud and clear. Cabinet is in excellent condition it displays very well – finish is peeling a bit on bottom right corner of door but nothing major and there is a hairline crack in the leg shown in close-up picture but it is still sturdy. Dimensions approximately 21″ x 21″ x 40.5 height – Weighs probably around 75 lbs. The Dirty Dozen was the name given to a group of 12 similarly-styled watches worn by British soldiers at the time of WWII, which were commissioned from 12 companies by the British Ministry of Defence. The twelve companies are as follows: Buren, Cyma, Eterna, Grana, Jaeger-LeCoultre, Lemania, Longines, IWC, Omega, Record, Timor, and Vertex. Each company delivered as many watches as their manufacturing would allow. Of a total of roughly 145,000 watches, an estimated 13,000 were manufactured by Timor. This is a gents Record Dirty Dozer watch. It features a black dial and one sub dial showing the seconds hand. It has been finished with a highly durable khaki green fabric strap. Victor Model 5 Phonograph. Condition is everything when it comes to antiques, therefore it is highly unlikely you will find a Victor Model 5 in such pristine condition. Produced in 1908, few survived in such condition. As seen, this phonograph has the original finish, and there are no dents scratches, no missing veneer or mechanical motor damage. The phonograph will play 12 – 78 rpm records powered by a spring motor. Just as today, technology was changing rapidly from Edisons wax cylinder recordings to the newer Edison 1/4 flat Diamond style records. Even with all the inventions Edison created, it was the thinner lighter weight records that took up less room that became the standard of the industry thanks to RCA who bought out Victors designs when they were going bankrupted.
