Knight Commander of the Order of the British Empire K. B. E. WWI Knighthood
British Military Collectables, Royal Memorabilia. Century to the present Day. Preserving the past for the future. Knight Commander of the Order of the British Empire K. A wonderful Opportunity to obtain a 100% Original Full Size WWI Knights Commander of the Order of the British Empire 1. Type on Silk military neck Ribbon, Silver Breast Star with Original Presentation Case of Issue made by Royal Silversmith makers of the time Garrard of London and issued during World War I. The KBE set is made of Sterling Silver Neck Badge with silver gilt enamel, the Breast Star is Silver, gilt and enamel. The set is in superb finishing as you can see from the photos, the guilloche enamel is in excellent condition with the inner circle in red finished enamel with block lettering in gold For God and the Empire. To the centre Britannia again finished in gold gilt. The medal still retains the , Original military silk purple water fleck ribbon is in super condition. To the top front of medal we see the Royal Crown, still prominent and present. The medal comes with its presentation case and instructions of how to wear card, the case has block letters in gold KBE, stamped Garrard appointment to the King and Crown. Press to release catch which is in perfect working order. The medal has beautiful aged toning and has never been cleaned. This one is for the collector or investor of solid silver medals or Royal Regalia. A real investment for the future. The Medal would have been personally presented by the King himself. These are a higher award than the MBE and OBEs and CBEs and extremely collectable. Are the makers of the Crown Jewells which are housed in the Tower of London, also Garrard are credited for. Such pieces as the Queen Mary Crown used for the Coronation, the Imperial Crown of India worn by King George V and the famous Koh-i-Noor diamond which was made for the Queen Mother. Robert Garrard II Silverware is avidly more collected as they received the Royal Warrant under his production which makes them more desirable than the earlier Garrards silver, to this date Garrards still produce silver for the British Royal Family. Most of Garrards silver are to be found in museums or private collections around the world. Hallmarks: No KBEs are hallmarked however they are made of Solid Sterling Silver and produced by Garrard of London. Size of medal from Top of Crown with ring to bottom: 85mm high x 64mm wide. Condition: The medal is in superb condition. Light surface marks consistent with age and genuine wear. All in all a wonderful piece with no knocks or dents. A real collectors piece. Very hard to find WWI KBEs That are 100% and NOT copies. Please see photos to judge for yourself. Antique 1827 Grandfather Clock Moon Dial Face Longcase British Flag 1800’s Tall
I almost never grow an attachment to “things”. But this one is hard to give up. Before I go into the details. I want prospective buyers to know that I have more photos and can take more photos. This clock is AMAZING. I think this shows all of the expertise and quality of a piece crafted in 1827. There is a note on inside door that says clock made or repaired by R. Cashell Aug 14, 1827. There are also handwritten notes on the inside door that document the 1827 date. But please “judge” this by the construction and quality of the piece. The pendulum is detached from the clock. This will need repaired. I don’t know if this is a working clock. There were about 15 antique clocks for sale at that time. I just did not want to start turning things and mess something up. But if you know what I should move… Just let me know and I can pass that info to you. I would feel comfortable in assuming that someone took very good care of this. There is glass on all 3 sides of the top pieces. The glass has that “wavy glass” quality. Top brass finial is removable. The Weights are very unique. They weigh about 10 pounds each and are filled with some type of sand. Exterior of weight is some type of metal that has been crimped closed at top. Brass or bronze I would think. The moon face is so awesome. There is a scratch line running through some of the paint as you can see in photos. Don’t think this will be too hard to touch up as the scratch does not go through the moon face/eyes. Top portion has a wood inlay decorative oval. This top portion looks like it may have been repaired. See line in photo # 8. Repair looks professional to me and very good. I don’t have a key for the door. And Door Closes slightly askew. There is a “facade” (outer wood covering) of one of the legs that needs tacked back into position. See photo number 10. Height is 86.5″ without finial and 92″ including finial. Width is 20.25. Depth is 12.25. Please read my feedback and you will see that you have no worries. Antique 18th Cen British Pattern 1796 Steel Officers Dress Small Sword
A shortened British Pattern 1796 small sword, having a 64 cm flattened single fullered blade with a brass hilt with a silver-wired grip and D shaped knuckle bow, 80 cm in total. Blade is etched with owner’s initials and has a “G” maker mark on the ricasso. Brass guard and a knuckle bow has a slight movement, upper quillon is missing. Blade is stained and pitted but nothing major considering age of this piece. Length of the blade with handle: 80.2 cm (31 3/4). Length of the blade without handle: 64.5 cm (25 1/3). Antique British naval figure-eight cutlass, BOARDING NAVY SWORD
Releasing from my collection. One of my best pieces. Interesting stamped British naval figure-eight cutlass, Victorian era, ca. 1840 with it´s leather scabbard (with the hook and brass point) and leather pommel at the handguard. 1040 grams, 85 cm 33,4″ overall length, 74 cm 29,1″ blade length. Clean blade with blunt point and very small chips in sharp side, if you look closely. Nice, clearvisible, big crowned-VR mark (for Victoria Regina). Solid steel-ribbed grip and figure-8 guard, nice patina overall without rust. Remenants of black colour inside the handguard. Overall, the sword and the leather scabbard are in exceptionell good antique condition. However the stiching of the scabbard has loosened on the tip for about 10 cm and on the mouth side for about 20 cm. The leather holds still well together even without the thread, so I never thought about repairing it. Nevertheless for the age, a faboulous figure of eight model cutlass you will find very rarely. Vintage Timor Dirty Dozen British WWW Military Watch 1945
This is a Timor Dirty Dozen W. W Military Watch which dates back to 1945 and comes from the first line of non-civilian wristwatches worn by the British military. The Dirty Dozen was the name given to a group of 12 similarly-styled watches worn by British soldiers at the time of WWII, which were commissioned from 12 companies by the British Ministry of Defence. The twelve companies are as follows: Buren, Cyma, Eterna, Grana, Jaeger-LeCoultre, Lemania, Longines, IWC, Omega, Record, Timor, and Vertex. Each company delivered as many watches as their manufacturing would allow. Of a total of roughly 145,000 watches, an estimated 13,000 were manufactured by Timor. The watches needed to be accurate, reliable and durable, which in watchmaking terms meant they had to be regulated to chronometer standards, and also be waterproof and shockproof. The watches also had to have a black dial, Arabic numerals, luminous hour and minute hands, luminous hour markers, a railroad minute track, a shatterproof crystal, and a stainless-steel case. Powering them would be 15-jewel movements, measuring between 11.75 and 13 lignes. 36.5mm (40mm including crown). Marked: TIMOR WWW K 3173 33073. Vintage WWII BRITISH MILITARY ANTI GLARE GOGGLES with AMBER SAFETY LENSES & CASE
A Pair of Vintage World War Two Era. Having Leather as opposed to Fabric Surrounds these are an early example of this Type of Goggles. As employed in WWII by various branches of the Military, both British and Allies. Fabric Head-Strap intact, not elasticated, strong and serviceable. Amber Tinted Glass Laminated Lenses with supple Brown Leather Surrounds. Each Lens consists of two Pieces of Glass sandwiching an adhesive Amber Tinted Film, this also acts as a safety feature to minimize the spread of Glass fragments in case of breakage. Lenses are in excellent condition, with only very minor peripheral de-lamination in places as shown clearly, with only slight signs of age and use, no major damage, no visible scratches, no chips or cracks. Both Lenses are firmly in situ. There is nothing that compromises the view in use, the Amber tint is about the same as Sunglasses, not too dark and very effective. The Supple Brown Leather. Surrounds show only very minor patina of age and use, they have no major damage, splits or structural issues, they are vented to prevent the Lenses from misting up when worn. The Eye Surrounds are Sprung on an Internal Wire Frame, this is working as designed, they sit snugly against the Face. For a more comfortable and stable fit. All the stitching, seams etc are intact and strong. The Silver Metalwork is all structurally sound with just surface patination of age and use, it has no major damage or structural issues, no rot, dents, cracks or breaks.
