1941 & 1943 WWII Harley Davidson WLAs with WWII Type Trailer/Hauler. All components were completely disassembled and rebuilt to new by him. I have pictures thru the process on both motorcycles. After receiving the first bike, the 42WLA, I was so impressed with the quality of his work, I decided that I would like another bike of an earlier series. Steve had the 41WLA in his personal collection, but didn’t want to sell it. The 1943 built Series IV 42WLA, named Karen, was ridden approximately 250 miles by me, until I decided I wasnt comfortable riding any more. The bike is marked for an Army Air Forces bomber unit, stationed in England during the war. The 1941 Series II 41WLA, named Lucky, is marked for an Armored Force training unit from Ft Knox, KY that trained riders on the use of the WLA motorcycles. The bike has a mere 52 miles on it. Those miles were put on by Steve LeMay, as a test run, to assure all systems were perfect. I never even put a battery in the bike. It has been stored, covered in my shop since then. Both names on the bikes were hand lettered by an old school sign painter and look like theyve been there since the war. He did an amazing job! The trailer was built by myself and my son to represent a well built trailer, that couldve been built during the war, using parts and hardware, readily available on an Army post and from local sources. The wheels are 16 1936 Chevrolet steel artillery wheels, wearing original style 16 Goodyear ribbed sidewall tires. My son is a fabrication specialist, who works with steel on a daily basis, so all MIG welds are perfection. All the tie down points are WWII hardware. The only thing not WWII to secure the bikes are the ratchet straps. I felt it was more important to assure their safe arrival, when towing and these were the best way to do that. They are custom made, with olive drab nylon straps and black zinc hardware, to assure they have a subdued appearance. The grey tool box has been replaced by an excellent olive drab painted, original WWII tool box. The trailer is marked for the same training unit at Ft Knox, as the 41WLA. The dummy Thompson, in the scabbard on Karen, is not included in this sale! I have titles for both bikes and the trailer! Both bikes havent been started in 12 years and will require a slight bit of maintenance and fresh batteries before riding them. They have been stored without batteries in them, during that time, so no issues with battery corrosion. You may find many more pics and comments on these beauties by looking for WWII Harleys go for a ride. Also The Baby has arrived G503, both 3 pages of info and then Expecting again! The newest WLA baby, Lucky. That one is two pages of pics and info on the super rare 1941 Series II 41WLA. The 1941 Series II 41WLA, is one of only 1800 made prior to our entry into WWII. One can imagine the crazy times this bike saw, after that December 7th morning. Its easily, one of the best, if not the best and most correct Series II 41WLA in the world. Belly numbers match on it, as well as the 42WLA. The survival rate for this rare model, with correct motor, frame front end and all other parts, has to be incredibly low. It doesnt include the WWII Dodge Command Car, seen in some pictures, or the dummy Thompson, seen on the 42 WLA. It does include a story board, made for each bike by one of my customers, whose company does trade show displays. They are profusely illustrated and very nice!! I can supply pics of those also. 1918 Harley Davidson Motocyke bicycle. The frame and fork have original paint under the house paint. Original badge and sprocket. The seat and the bull dog grips are outstanding. Also original paint rear Harley fender. The front fender is a correct 1 deep Davis fender, however the brace is a 2 bolt fender brace mount instead of the correct single bolt that Harley used. The color of the front fender is dark, but not an exact match. Look at the pictures to see original Harley green paint peaking through, and you’ll even see some stripes on the frame and fork. The wood rims are era correct replacements, and the tires are newer hard rubber replacements with a “button” tread. Rare chance to own a bicycle that Harley only made for 5 years in the teens to early 20’s, especially one that has some original paint. Get Supersized Images & Free Image Hosting.
