Copy and paste link for video. Symphonion Music Box – Gorgeous. Amazing Sound, Amazing Beauty & Amazing Condition. This is truly an antique to marvel or add to any living room decor. This music box will make a great conversation piece for holiday entertaining as if you were experiencing a Live Performance in the privacy of your own home. This particular music box was produced around 1898 and would be by definition, an true antiqueof over 100 years. The precision mechanism encased in an ornate 2-piece cabinet with a lower cabinet that stores the 10 music 19 1/4 disks with a separate top cabinet that houses the mechanical sound mechanism. Built by experienced tradesman who earned their skills through years of training and apprenticeship, Germany became known as a region producing some of the best experienced craftsman. Their innovations earned them awards for designs and mechanical achievements in the gilded age. As you play the music box, a comb is plucked by the prongs on the 19 disk producing a beautiful harmonic ring that music boxes are noted for, the sound is absolutely amazing and absolutely captivating. Condition is as follows. Cabinet has no dents Slight scuffs on lower top surface were the upper cabinet rests. Overall size 83 ¼ high x 27 ½ wide x 16 ¾ deep. Weight 250 in 2 sections. Bottom cabinet: 30 ¼ H x 27 ½ W x 16 ¾ D. Upper cabinet: 53 H x 23 ½ W x 13 ½ D. Disk size 19 1/4 diameter. Winding spring motor is in perfect condition. Sound comb is in perfect condition. Spring motor is in perfect condition. Coin mechanism is in perfect condition. Because of the size, it will have to be to trucked by furniture mover. Please note: this music box is in excellent working condition, but care must be observed and please use a heavy coin to trigger the start of the mechanical mechanism. In addition, do not over wined the spring and please lubricate the certain parts to keep the mechanism turning freely. Though this music box is in outstanding working condition, I will not guarentee the antique working because of its age produced in approx.
