Offered here is a beautiful lot of 12 original antique Stollwerck’s Schokolade trade cards, dating from the late 19th century. These cards were issued by the Stollwerck Chocolate Company of Cologne, Germany, as promotional collectibles. This set features colorful lithograph views of international exhibition architecture, including pavilions and grand buildings from World’s Fairs and other expositions. Each card is finely detailed, with printed text on the reverse promoting Stollwerck chocolate products. Quantity: 12 cards (bulk lot). 2.75″ x 4.25″ each. Theme: World’s Fair / Exhibition buildings. This is a lovely and rare handmade chain, known also as kostek, made and worn in the late XIX or the beginning of the XX century. The kostek is made of silver. It is kept in a very good condition, without damages of any kind. This kind of chains, kostek, were used as a jewelry, decorations at the women’s ethic costumes (in some occasions by men as well but they were attaching them to a pocket watch or the gun) and presenting the family wealth status. This exact kostek was typical for the women costumes of the upper Bitola villages and Lerinsko Pole (todays Florina)region. The length of the chain is 60 cm or 23.6 inches.
