Antique Seth Thomas Alto Tambour Mantle Clock Beautiful! Works Great
This antique Seth Thomas “Alto” tambour mantel clock is a beautiful piece that will add character to any room. The clock features a mechanical movement and is powered by springs. It has a brown color and is made of wood and brass. The clock is 16.25″ in length, 9″ in height, and 5.5 deep. The clock displays the time on an analog display and has a chime sequence that counts the hours and reports for half an hour. It has a pendulum, key, and 8-day movement (ran 10 days on last test). The clock kept great time and only lost a couple of minutes over the week, and can be fine-tuned better with the small end of the key just under the dial center. It was made in the United States and has a glossy finish. This clock is a must-have for collectors of decorative collectibles, clocks, and desk, mantel, and shelf clocks. I did a white oil to the movement but it ran fine before that just a little maintenance and replace the tapered pin on the hands this clock has been very well taken care of over its life and looks like it probably run another hundred years with some light maintenance along the way.

Nyuserre Ini was an Ancient Egyptian pharaoh, the sixth ruler of the Fifth Dynasty during the Old Kingdom period. He is credited with a reign of 24 to 35 years depending on the scholar, and likely lived in the second half of the 25th century BCE. Nyuserre was the younger son of Neferirkare Kakai and queen Khentkaus II, and the brother of the short-lived king Neferefre.
