Historical Integrity & Craftsmanship. Up for sale is a magnificent survivor of 19th-century metalwork, likely of Ottoman or Balkan origin. This is a heavy-duty, artisan-crafted pitcher with a spectacular “primitive” soul. Authentic Hand-Forged Handle: Features a thick, hand-forged copper strap handle, meticulously shaped and secured with massive, oversized hand-pounded copper rivets. Exceptional Weight: At nearly 7 lbs, the thickness of the copper walls is outstanding, indicating high-quality historical production. Ancient “Make-Do” Repairs: The base shows charming, authentic repairs using traditional resin and old-world soldering. These are not modern fixes; they are a historical record of the item’s long life and use over 100 years ago. Original Found Condition: We have chosen to leave this piece unpolished.
