Antique 1920 Redeye Singer Sewing Machine in Oak Cabinet with Treadle G Series. Great old wood -nice patina. One of the sturdiest and simplest of machines to operate. Weight is about 55 POUNDS. This is a great old SEWING MACHINE & cabinet. Singer Sewing Machine Details: This sewing machine is in a treadle cabinet, and is not motorized ” RED EYE ” decal was used on Singer model 66 from 1910 to 1925. The Singer “Red Eye” gets its name from the beautiful red iconic design used throughout its decoration. Several other machines earn names frm their embellishments such as the Sphinx, Lotus, and several other machines. Serial number of this Singer 66 machine is G0926108 and made circa 1920. Approximately 30″ tall 36″ wide and 16 deep. 5 drawers-Includes machine, cabinet, treadle and belt. Condition: I inherited the machine from my mother years ago. Cabinet needs some cleaning and care, veneer peeling in few areas, but no major damage. See photos for serial number. The knobbed drawers pull out to store material or any projects you may have. Perfect for sewing, use as a desk or very interesting as an occasional table. It is a handsome sturdy collector’s classic. VINTAGE old antique EARLY STANLEY No 97 CABINET MAKERS CHISEL PLANE

A special purpose edge or chisel plane from Stanley USA. Aimed at piano makers and cabinet makers for working into the corners and tight spaces where the use of other planes would be impractical or impossible. The Stanley 97 plane was offered from 1905 1944, is 10 inches long and has a 2.1/4 inch adjustable cutter. Fitted with a rosewood rear knob, fixed as in the bench planes with a threaded bar and nut however the nut on the No. 97 is nickle plated rather than plain brass. Cast iron & rosewood knob. For planing right up into a corner, similar to a chisel The Stanley cabinet makers edge plane number 97 is also known as the’Stanley piano makers plane’. The 97 plane was made from cast iron with a front knob made from Rosewood, a black lever cap and a depth adjuster mechanism. The upper surface of the plane was finished with a black japanning. The plane has a distinctive shape and design with the walls of either side slanting down to the surface. At the centre of the wall on each side there is a semi-circle removed. There is an open mouth at the front which in effect makes this plane like a large chisel; this plane is therefore sometimes referred to as a chisel plane. At the time of production in the early 1900’s, this plane was advertised saying there is no other plane which can work into small spaces or so close to corners. The Stanley 97 plane blade rests on a solid bed for nearly the entirety of the blade. The 97 has a blade fine adjustment mechanism to allow the user to simply and easily make small adjustments to the depth of cut. The blade can be adjusted by using the blade fine adjustment wheel, to use this the first thing to do is loosen the lever cap slightly (turn the lever cap screw anti-clockwise) so the blade is not locked firmly in place. Next locate the depth adjuster knurled wheel which can be found under the top-end of the blade. Turn the depth adjuster clockwise to move the blade forward for a deeper cut or turn the adjuster anti-clockwise to move the blade backwards for a finer cut. Once the blade is in the desired position, secure the blade by tightening the lever screw (turn the lever cap screw clockwise) ensuring not to knock the blade. Sometimes the front corners of this plane are very slightly rounded off in a similar way that the corners of side rebate plane blade are. It has a chip to the corner.
