Antique sampler worked by Ann Shirley, March 10 or 19? Her work shows the alphabet and numbers along with a bowl of fruit and trees and birds in flight above the fruit bowl. The border is a vine with flowers. It’s worked in browns with pale yellow, grey, white and black and there is some pink in the fruit bowl. Measures 9-1/2 inches by 12-3/4 inches long. Some loss of thread as evident in the pictures. Minor discoloring of linen commensurate with age. Overall condition is very good. I had this conservation framed after purchasing it from England.
