Pretty Pair of 19th Century Antique Staffordshire Dogs Greyhounds Whippets on Cobalt Bases. 4 inches. Lovely condition. Condition: Excellent given age. Staffordshire potters in England starting in mid-19th century and often depicting Spaniels and other popular breeds such as Poodles, Greyhounds/Whippets, and Dalmatians. After Queen Victoria married Prince Albert in 1840, the family grew to include several dogs, but none were more popular than her favorite pet and constant companion, Dash, a King Charles Spaniel. This sparked a love for this particular breed. Early production Victorian Staffordshire dogs (1840s-1860s) are distinct from later productions (1870s-turn of the century) primarily in manufacturing techniques, quality of decoration, and overall craftsmanship. The transition from more rustic. Handmade pieces to factory produced models marks the most significant differences. In the second half of the 20th century an appreciation for English country and aristocratic themes grew in popularity, sparking a love for related antiques and collectibles. No where was this more evident than in the collection of antique Victorian Staffordshire dogs. Just completed the restoration of this beautiful highly collectable 1945/46 Crosley tube radio. This the popular Crosley model 66 TC. It is 16″ long x 9.75″ tall x 8 deep. The radio’s cabinet is refinished and has wonderful wood grains and colors. The radio has wrap around speaker grills (only one is functional from the factory). Big eye catching dial face with the big winged pointer. The four original knobs have been cleaned, polished, and resealed. The dial face and the pointer are in excellent condition and the pointer works as required. There are two new Dial Lamps, new AC Power Cord, new speaker grill cloth, new dial cover, and new Audio/Filter Capacitors. Chassis cleaned, all tubes tested, and the remainder of the components tested/adjusted and replaced if needed. Speaker provides excellent projection, tones, and clarity. This radio has an Antenna pigtail at the rear of the radio which will require a few feet of wire to be attached for proper reception and performance. Reception and performance will depend on your location, antenna length, and signal strength. Very good player here with no issues. This radio would look wonderful in you office or home on display. Just completed the restoration of this beautiful highly collectable 1941 tube radio. This the Crosley model 53TF. It is 13″ long x 8″ tall x 6.5 deep. The radio’s cabinet is refinished and has wonderful wood grains, colors, and walnut veneers. The radio has rounded top edges, a beautiful top, and pin striping around the entire cabinet. The three original knobs have been cleaned, polished, and resealed. The framed in dial face and pointer are very nice and the pointer works as required. There is a new Dial Cover, new Dial Lamp, new AC Power Cord, and new Audio/Filter Capacitors. Chassis cleaned, 5 tubes tested, and the remainder of the components tested/adjusted and replaced if needed. Speaker provides excellent projection, tones, and clarity. This radio also features a built in “LOOP” Antenna which eliminates the need for an external wire/antenna. Excellent player here with no issues.
