Sixth Plate Daguerreotype In Case Of Jervis J. Cass & Wife Fannie Whipple
The product is a sixth plate daguerreotype featuring a portrait of Jervis J. Cass and his wife Fannie Whipple. They were both born in Rhode Island in the early 1800s and are both buried in Rhode Island today. Jervis Cass donated land to the city of Woonsocket that is now Cass Park. This antique photograph from the 1830s to 1860s showcases two images, with silver details and rosie coloring added to their cheeks. The one-of-a-kind piece captures the couple and is an original production technique using daguerreotype technology. This collectible item offers a glimpse into the past with its unique portrayal of a known husband and wife during that time period. The case is in great condition and does latch to protect the images within. There is a slight crack on the casing near the latch mechanism but it does not impede on its ability to close.
