Original late-18th-century copper-engraved foldout from Alexander Hogg of Paternoster Row, London. This large connected sheet features six complete scientific plates from an early optics reference work, showing the development of telescopes, microscopes, vision studies, light refraction experiments, and scientific instruments of the period. The engravings include detailed mechanical diagrams, early optical devices, lens systems, reflectors, and experimental setups used in 18th-century physics and visual science. This is an uncommon multi-plate foldout, surviving fully intact with its original folds, rather than separated into individual sheets as most examples are today. Good antique condition for its age. Visible toning, fold wear, edge wear, and minor staining typical of 200-year-old paper. All six plates remain attached exactly as issued. Plate impressions remain clear. Please review all photos. Set of 6 connected plates (116, 117, 118, 151, 152, 153).
