Antique C 1900 Black Forest Cuckoo Quail Clock Made in Germany for Sears Roebuck. This cuckoo quail clock measures 20 1/4″ H and 15″ W at the roof. It works fine and has a nice mellow Sound. Strikes on two mellow wire gongs as well as cuckoo and quail calls. The cuckoo bellows will need to be changed at some point. They work now, but are quite old. The top bird had broken off his perch at one time, but has been repaired and repair is not obvious. Otherwise there is a little chip missing off a leaf on the pendulum as well as on the bottom center leaf. The pendulum is unusual with an acorn and leaves. Hands are early celluloid hands and I believe they are original. Cast brass movement stamped Sears Roebuck and Co. I have another of these listed on my other items, its classed as the giant and is in museum condition. This piece is exceptionally rare, it has the oversized silver fish on one side and three small fish with extra foliage on the other. Upon his retirement, his workmanship could not be equalled, and the skills necessary to continue to manufacture the aquarium lighter couldn’t be found, hence production ceased. Today these exquisite aquarium lighters have become highly prized, collected and revered throughout the world. I have left in original condition, unrestored just as you wish to find them, Needs fuel and a new flint. One side panel is a little loose and has a very small crack at the bottom, some of the painting has flecked off on this side. Height:- 14.5cm. Width:- 9.5cm. Depth:- 2.3cm. You are looking at an. Antique Airs Swiss made large cylinder 8 tune music box. The cylinder is 13 3/8 in length and 2 3/8 in diameter. It plays 8 tunes and plays beautifully. It moves smoothly from one song to the next. There is one brass handle on either side of the music box. The music box is 28 ¾ long, 11 ¾ deep and 8 ½ high. It is almost 40 lbs. The walnut wood case is in generally good condition for its age and inlay on the surface is in good condition. The crankshaft is on the right hand side. The cover does not close perfectly because of the age of the wood, but not quite noticeable. It has not been serviced but works well. Please exam the photos carefully for further details. I take my time to pack to ensure safe arrival. I do my part, but I should not be held responsible for incompetence on the carriers part. Please examine all the photos, as they are a very important part of the description. I dont want to rush it and give you an early, damaged item, so I hope youll understand any delays necessary to keep your item safe. To keep costs down, I do sometimes use recycled materials. This item is in the condition shown. I didn’t run it long or see if it moved to another song, but it seems to be okay. The lock mechanism is not working and is falling out of it. The male stud doesn’t line up perfectly with the hole either, so I didn’t try to lock it. There are a couple spots in the wood inlay that is missing as shown in the photos. The hand crank is removable. It’s a beautiful piece. I would have added a few more photos, but they only give me 12. Feel free to contact me with any specific questions.
