Dan mask-37.5/32.7 CM. A variation of côte d’Ivoire’s Deanglé African mask, this sculpted face features a sunken look enhanced by a sculpted wolf coated in kaolin masks. The mouth is classically protruding. A grainy aggregate remains at the top of a metal hook on either side. A beard extended the chin. Smooth patina slightly satiny. Dan masks, of varied design, usually perform at very theatrical entertainment parties where women play a leading role. The mask called “moqueur” called Deanglé masks defines an ideal of beauty and benevolence because it is carved in honor of young girls of the village orfamous men. Also used in circumcision rites, they appearin the company of and large masks go ge relating to the society go, which exercises justice and maintains peace. Fly, dan masks also have the distinction of being not representations of spirits of the bush but in fact being the embodiment of them. The Dan live in western Côte d’Ivoire, but also in Liberia. Also known as Yacouba, they have a powerful initiation society, that of the Leopard. Dan Krans living in the southern part of Dan produce more triangular masks with side fins. The Dan Maou who are based in the western part have large masks with a beak. 37.5/32.7 CM. An original patina covers the item. Antique Hand Carved African Mask with Real Fur Vintage Tribal. I contacted an expert on these and this was my reply. This looks like a metal studded African Dan Bete mask from the Ivory Coast. I can’t say for sure because I haven’t seen one quite like it. I think collectors would enjoy having this mask in their collections. RARE and VINTAGE 1985 PINK AND WHITE BARBIE DREAM HOUSE BY MATTEL WITH SOME FURNITURE. This Barbie Dream house is VERY LARGE. Approximately 4 FEET WIDE AND 3 FEET TALL when assembled. The A-Frame house looks realistic with working doors and windows and has cute planters for polish. It’s a lifelike design and Mattel continued to make it for almost a decade. The house can be arranged to play in different ways because of it’s 3 separate pieces. We will use one extra large box and it will be very heavy. There are no instructions or original box but we used a youtube video and were able to assemble watching that. We assembled to show condition. Please check all the photos and zoom in for condition. There are some missing pieces to house and some of the furniture. If you have any questions or need more photos (we took more than we are allowed to list) please let us know and we will answer as quickly as possible. We are including in this listing the items for build of the dreamhouse and some furniture as listed below. 2 roof pieces with flower beds. 2 smaller roof pieces. 2 white frame roof pieces. 2 pink closet doors. 4 pieces of cross frame. 4 under roof strips. Other door has previously been broken and glued. 12 Screws for the bottom of the dream house. Barbie Pink & White Couch. Barbie Pink & White Chair. Coffee Table Opens, top scratched and a little cracked. Vanity with mirror & Stool Mirror a little bubbled. Refrigerator Contains all shelves and Drawers containing lots of fake food & drinks. 7 champagne bottles, 2 ice cube trays, 1 egg tray, 2 milk containers, 4 cans, 1 ice cream, 2 boxes, 5 unknown food items. One of the doors does not attach securely due to the plastic insert. Locker with exercise stuff tennis rackets / barbells. Stove – Mostly complete but missing some stickers for burners. Pink plastic wicker Shelf with 3 drawers (broken rail on right side). Pink plastic 3 shelves for towels & Pink stool. Barbie Computer & Desk (Top opens). Pullout white plastic wicker sofa with side table. Purple & Blue bedspread with 2 pillows. Dining table (missing one leg), 2 chairs with seat covers (chair legs still attach bit on inset broken), Fake lazy susan of food. Barbie bed and mattress. 12 plants / flowers. Pillar Covers 15 x4, 14 x2, 13 x13, 2 ¾ x4. As with most vintage Barbie Dreamhouses, these plastic covers have become very brittle with age. Some of them are broken and some of them are split but they can still be used as covers once the house is put together. They have discoloration as they are 35 years old. Latticed doors There should be four of these, 2 on the front and 2 on the back. 2 of these are missing. One of these was broken but glued back together. The other has a small corner broken off. Issues with Dream House – Front Door is missing a small piece from bottom corner which needs to be glued. 2 Windows are missing (1 front, 1 back) All top screws are missing. Several pillar covers are damaged and some broken. This seems to be standard for dreamhouses of this age. I have seen several listings with the same issue. The material gets brittle and splits. 2 plastic pillar covers missing. The roof has a small amount of damage. One side wall is split and needs gorilla glue. It doesn’t affect the structure though as you can see it still stands. Some windows and doors are a little scratched. There is a small amount of residue on the side of one of the walls that can probably be easily removed with goof off or a similar product. Check photos carefully for condition. AUTHENTIC ANCIENT ANTIQUE NATIVE AMERICAN INDIAN STONE HEAD TOMAHAWK AXE HATCHET. The beautiful original and authentic Native American Indian stone head tomahawk was found at the estate of an elderly antiques and ancient artifacts collector. He and his wife had amassed a large collection of pre-1600 fine antiques, mainly consisting of Native American Indian artifacts, brass candlesticks, fine art and American War related items and artifacts, among other things. This piece is either a local Seneca County Iroquois Indian artifact, or may be Navajo or Apache as the bulk of the large collection was made up of artifacts from these three tribes. Provenance: Private Collection, Ontario County, New York, USA. Measures approximately 17 1/2″ tall by 5 3/4″ long by 2 thick. Condition: Great overall condition. 100% original, authentic and unrestored. There is a break in the wood on the underside of the tomahawk where it wraps around and reconnects to the handle (see pics) however it still holds the stone axe head fairly firmly in place. Would make an excellent display piece from one side as is, or fully restore to show off both sides. No other chips, breaks or other damage of any kind to the stone axe head. The wood handle has preserved very well and is very hard and solid. Thanks for looking at my online estate sale finds! This is a Charles Carmel, c. 1910 Coney Island style carousel horse, last operated at Marshall Hall Park in Maryland. Measures 54 from nose to rump. Professionally restored twenty years ago by a preservationist at R&F Design (who was then located within the New England Carousel Museum). Restoration made to show – rather than conceal – construction of horse, with dowels and cracks where the wood was joined to be visible. The item “Authentic, Antique CHAS.
