Stromberg Carlson with Western Electric Base 554 – Pink. This is a NOS Stromberg Carlson model 554 case. It is quite rare to find a pink 554 in this good of condition, especially the base and internal parts. Dial The dial has been fully disassembled, cleaned, lubed and timed to ensure years of trouble free service. The number plate has been cleaned and hand polished. A brand fingerwheel and die cut dial card have been added as well. If you require a traditional line cord, please let me know in the comments. Shell The shell was slightly discolored due to age, so we put it through our multi-step restoration process which includes sanding with 400, 800, 1000, 2000 grit. This ensures that there are no scratches, dents or dings. The shell is them carefully buffed on our two step buffing wheels. This takes out the fine abrasions left by sanding and leaves the plastic with a smooth factory fresh finish. Finally we apply a three step plastic restoration compound. This leaves the plastic with a beautiful high gloss finish. Handset Handset has been sanded with the same process as the shell and buffed back to its beautiful original shine. Native Americans used the moon to tell time by counting from one new moon to the next, known as a lunar cycle. Native Americans assigned names to the moon for each month to keep track of the seasons. Each name is a symbol of what the moon meant to Native Americans by virtue of its use, guidance and influence in their daily lives. January is named the “Wolf Moon” because during the cold nights wolves would howl hungrily outside the Native American villages. Some sources mention that Native Americans used stars’ positions to indicate specific seasons or events of the year such as harvest time, planting time, buffalo hunt time and so on. Their interpretation and use of the star positions and constellation vary significantly from the astrology of the modern world. The Cree were first contacted by Europeans in 1682, at the mouth of the Nelson and Hayes rivers in what is now northern Manitoba, by a Hudson’s Bay Company (HBC) party traveling about 100 miles (160 km) inland. In the south, contact was later. In 1732 in what is now northwestern Ontario, Pierre Gaultier de Varennes, sieur de La Vérendrye, met with an assembled group of 200 Cree warriors near present-day Fort Frances, as well as with the Monsoni, (a branch of the Ojibwe). Both groups had donned war paint in preparation to an attack on the Dakota and another group of Ojibwe. After acquiring firearms from the HBC, the Cree moved as traders into the plains, acting as middlemen with the HBC. Live in close symbiosis with nature. Antique black forest cuckoo clock. This clock is a pre 1930s clock. Its a one day clock and is known as a hunter clock due to the hunting theme around it. The clock comes with older style iron weights instead of the pine cone design weights that are used later on. The cuckoo bird inside is also made of wood and moves its wings and mouth. A interesting feature on this clock is that the dial has regular numbers. Instead of roman numerals. Condition The clock works and keeps time. Some signs of repair on the clock. This lot comes to you AS-IS with no implied warranties or guarantees. This clock comes to you as found and it is in used condition. The clock has just been overhauled and the original movement is spotless and running just as it should keeping very accurate time. It has the ORIGINAL No. 68 seconds beat movement that is maintaining power and runs for 8-Days where each stroke of the pendulum is equal to 1 second or often referred to a 60-beat movement. The original white enameled 13 dial has been professionally restored many years ago and you can see the crazing of the underlying original painted surface. The blued finished original spade style hands are in good condition. The oak case shows off the beautiful quarter sawn grain on the backboard while the rest of the case is a beautiful medium oak finish that really highlights the grain of the wood. Both door latches work correctly and the glass appears original to the case as it has a waviness throughout. The only glaring defect I see on the case would be the small dent on the left edge of the door as shown. It is very small and goes almost undetected unless you point it out. Our inventory consists mainly of used items from 1 year old to 180 years old and usually have some type of mechanical motor or machine driving it. We do our best to describe them accurately however, we cannot foresee the future and old parts can break at any time without warning, and without visible flaw.
