Edit 12/25/19 the wheel that turns in the center is not turning every time with certain key functions – it may need to be re oiled or have some repairs. A very nice looking Hammond that types well, but needs some tuning to get better letters, see print sample. This offering is for an antique original, Ca 1890’s, Smith Premier No. The machine features very fancy silver colored foliate panels on the sides and back including those that read SMITH PREMIER NO. The machine design has 76 keys for a double alphabet set of large and small case letters. Note the bottom piece of the # rod is broken. This machine is also marked “THE SMITH PREMIER TYPEWRITER” in front of the platen. PLEASE NOTE, the typewriter is not currently working. The carriage is movable by hand and the keys do slowly move but it is in definite need of a deep thorough cleaning and proper lubrication. There is an old dry ribbon on the left hand spool but I doubt it’s usable. The interior surfaces appear to have a light coating of surface grime and dry previous oils. The black paint on the case is pretty nice but does have scattered wear as seen in our photo’s. Over all a great display piece and addition to any typewriter collection. Antique Daugherty Typewriter with Case and Base. This is an important typewriter in the history of typewriters. It embodied the critical elements of the “modern” typewriter; Four rows of keys, typing that one could see as they typed and a shift key. This one has its original tin cover. The base was made using the template of a Pittsburgh Visible no 10. The base is new. The carriage bolts affixing it to the base are modern carriage bolts, that I acquired at our local hardware store. New feet have been made to replace the old worn out ones. A new ribbon has been installed. All other parts are to my knowledge period correct. The serial number is located in 3 places and are all matching. The serial number is 2659. As you can see from the type sample, this typewriter does function. We can send more pictures if you need. This RARE Antique Blickensderfer Stamford No. 7 typewriter is last patent date of 1893. Its appears to be good shape (better than a lot Ive seen) with some wear to the black paint (see pics). All keys seem to function just fine. I did test it with paper and you can actually see the letters its not totally dried out. Ive added pics of it loaded with paper and the typed letters. The roller is a little stiff but Im sure with a little cleaning and a little oil it will be fine. It is from a smoke free home. Antique 20th Century Corona 3 Typewriter. This is an absolutely stunning example of an Antique Corona No. Its in great condition and considering its age and has only a small amount of chips to the paintwork. Even includes both of its original ribbon spool nuts. This machine seems to be in good overall condition but would benefit from a service. The Typewriter types as it should, although it sometimes doesnt advance, resulting in the letters to stack (See typing example). The bell also works (The mechanism hits the bell) but it just makes a clack noise, the bell doesnt actually ring out. Im sure these could be sorted easily, as the base machine is working as it should. The metal work still looks fantastic with only some minor blemishes. The gold leaf is still in exquisite condition, however on the very front bar, the word’Corona’ is missing it’s letter’A’. Unfortunately, the machine doesnt feature case, so will be sent without one. However, the machine will be extremely well packaged to protect during transit. We try our hardest to describe all our items as clearly & honestly as possible, including any faults or flaws. Up for SALE is a. First year of production on FAY-SHOLES typewriters. Remington-Sholes Company , Chicago , USA. Two sons with famous family names were responsible for this monumental typewriter that originally appeared on the market in 1896 as the Remington-Sholes. Indeed, the inventor was Zalman Sholes, son of Christopher Latham Sholes, and the manager was Franklin Remington, son of Remington & Sons, who built the first Sholes & Glidden typewriters. In 1901 Sholes and Remington were forced to change the name of their company to Fay-Sholes. I’m not certain of the year OR of the particular model of this typewriter. However, the FAY-SHOLES name makes if post 1901 (when the company name became Fay Sholes). The keys all move, but with no ribbon I could not test this.
