1884 Shepard Hardware Company Punch & Judy Cast Iron Mechanical Bank. This highly sought after mechanical Punch & Judy cast iron bank was made around 1884 by the Shepard Hardware Company of Buffalo, New York. This bank was produced in 3 different sizes which had small, medium, or large letters on the theaters marquis. This version is the small letter version. It is in great all original condition with no restorations, repairs, and no touch ups. It shows the usual patina and wear from age and play, but we think that the faces on both Punch and Judy are some of the best we have seen in a while. I have tested the bank and it is in working order. To operate the bank you pull out the top lever on the right hand side until it clicks in place making Punch raise his club to Judy. The coins can be removed by unscrewing the base plate. This bank does have the original base plate that is often missing. The bank is approximately 6 1/8 x 7 ½ x 3 ¾. This would be a great addition to any mechanical bank collection. We invite you to view the photos to further determine quality and condition. Circa 1930s with the ORIGINAL BOX! The fan is working and runs very good. Since the fan was sitting in the box for so long, there is surface damage to the metal base. In speaking to restoration folks, this can be fixed and restored relatively easily. None of the raised numbers are damaged. Stevens Cast Iron Mechanical Baseball Bank entitled “DARKTWON BATTERY” BY J. It works by pulling the pitcher’s arm backward into position. Hes then lowers forward and down and then place a coin in the pitcher’s right hand. Then press down on the lever and the pitchers throws the coin toward the catcher and his head and arm snap back into position. At the same time, the batter raises his bat and turns his head from right to left as if he is watching the coin. The catcher moves his head forward and his left hand in toward his body so that the coin actually goes inside his body. The bank is in working condition. It is about 10″ long, 2 3/4″ wide, and 7 1/4 high. My dust collector is available. P lease check my other auctions this week. Ninety percent of what I sell is from estate sales and is not new. Circa July 31st, 1888 and measures 8 3/4″ long x 2 7/8″ wide x 7 1/2 tall. The mechanical bank operates by pressing a coin in the dogs mouth and pressing the lever. The dog raises up and jumps through the hoop to deposit the coin in the barrel. It is in good condition with its original trap. We will break it down for you upon end of sale in the invoice. Spindle turnings will not be uniform and swell unevenly with age. Wood tends to get stress fractures on support systems and where wide board construction is used. Eighty-five percent of 18th Century veneers have had some restoration during their life. Pine secondary woods might fracture, making overlays and veneers have the same fracture lines. Old finishes might alligator, fade, fish-eye or darken depending on where the pieces were placed. All of these are desired by a true collector and gives it personality. Do not expect these early pieces to be like new. These pieces age gracefully just as we do, giving them unique personality. Antique 20th Century Corona 3 Typewriter. This is an absolutely stunning example of an Antique Corona No. Its in great condition and considering its age and has only a small amount of chips to the paintwork. Even includes both of its original ribbon spool nuts. This machine seems to be in good overall condition but would benefit from a service. The Typewriter types as it should, although it sometimes doesnt advance, resulting in the letters to stack (See typing example). The bell also works (The mechanism hits the bell) but it just makes a clack noise, the bell doesnt actually ring out. Im sure these could be sorted easily, as the base machine is working as it should. The metal work still looks fantastic with only some minor blemishes. The gold leaf is still in exquisite condition, however on the very front bar, the word’Corona’ is missing it’s letter’A’. Unfortunately, the machine doesnt feature case, so will be sent without one.
