Egyptian Hathor Statue Ancient Antiques Goddess of Sensuality Rare Pharaonic BC
Egyptian Hathor Statue Ancient Antiques Goddess of Sensuality Rare Pharaonic BC. Hathor is one of the most famous goddesses of Ancient Egypt. She was known as “the Great One of Many Names” and her titles and attributes are so numerous that she was important in every area of the life and death of the ancient Egyptians. It is thought that her worship was widespread even in the Predynastic period because she appears on the Narmer palette. However, some scholars suggest that the cow-headed goddess depicted on the palette is in fact Bat (an ancient cow goddess who was largely absorbed by Hathor) or even Narmer himself. There is no doubt that her worship was well established by the Old Kingdom as she appears with Bast in the valley temple of Khafre at Giza. Hathor represents Upper Egypt and Bast represents Lower Egypt. She was originally a personification of the Milky Way, which was considered to be the milk that flowed from the udders of a heavenly cow. As time passed Hathor absorbed the attributes of many other goddesses but also became more closely associated with Isis, who to some degree usurped her position as the most popular and powerful goddess. Yet, Hathor remained popular throughout Egyptian history. As Shown At Pictures. In truth, very little happened in ancient Egypt which did not involve a scribe in some manner. It is no exaggeration to say that we owe most of our knowledge of ancient Egypt to the work of her scribes. The ancient Egyptians covered their temples and tombs with hieroglyphs, but they also employed scribes to record everything from the stocks held in the stores for workers to court proceedings. Egyptian Akhenaten Ancient Statue King Bc Rare Antique Antiquities Pharaonic BC. Akhenaten is one of the most famous pharaohs of ancient Egypt, despite the attempts of later rulers to omit him from the lists of kings. He began his reign under the name Amenhotep IV (“Amun is satisfied”). As the son of Amenhotep III, he inherited a prosperous and peaceful nation. He was crowned pharaoh with all of the usual flair and began an apparently normal reign. Akhenaten built several structures at Karnak during the early part of his reign, while he was still using the name Amenhotep (IV). He built the temple “Rud-menu” (“Enduring in monuments of Aten for eternity”) and a palace complex called Gempaaten (“the Aten is found in the mansion of the Aten”) where the royal family lived during the winter months. Egyptian Goddess Bastet Cat Figurine Egypt BC F1 Ancient Egyptian Antiquities. PHARAOHS UBASTI CAT STATUE. Egyptian Goddess Bastet is the Egyptian Goddess of the home, domesticity, women’s secrets, cats, fertility, and childbirth. She protected the home from evil spirits and disease, especially diseases associated with women and children. MEANING OF BASTET’S NAME: Her Name was Originally B’SST which became Ubaste, Then Bast, Then Bastet ; the meaning of this name is not known or, at least, not universally agreed upon. Geraldine Pinch claims that “her name probably means She of the Ointment Jar” as she was associated with protection and protective ointments (115). The Greeks associated her closely with their goddess Artemis and believed that, as Artemis had a twin brother (Apollo) so should Bast. They associated Apollo with Horus, the son of Isis (Heru-sa-Aset) and so called the goddess known as Bast ba’Aset (Soul of Isis) which would be the literal translation of her name with the addition of the second’T’ to denote the feminine (Aset being among the Egyptian names for Isis). Height : 20 cm / 7.87 inch. Bottom Length : 10 cm / 3.93 inch. Color: As Shown In Pictures.
