Markings: “LM & C France” on the back of the frame, tested, and guaranteed. Main Stone Measurements/Color. Accent Stone Measurements/Color. Men’s or Women’s: Unisex. Handmade during the Georgian era in France. Features the motifs of the Sacred Heart of Jesus and of the Virgin Mary, composed of silk with metallic gold stitched accents. The hearts rest on a black silk background, which also contains a cross motif. A crown of thorns design borders this image. A bubble glass frame protects the three-dimensional picture. A bale is connected to the base metal frame, allowing the piece to be hung on a wall, or worn as a large pendant. Damage: Age appropriate wear. There are several minor scratches to the bubble glass, as well as some wear to the black backing of the picture. The price has been reduced to reflect this. This listing is for the item only. The Georgian era is known for its hand-crafted designs, which were heavily influenced by world exploration. A few signatures of this era were high karat gold, cameos, chatelaine accessories, foil-backed stones, rivière necklaces, memento mori and mourning jewelry, and rose and mine cut diamonds. While the jewelry from this era began to see designs from all over the world, jewelry from abroad was still very expensive to acquire due to sea travel. Rare Antique Philippine Lime Container Carved Bone & Wooden HandCarved Water Buffalo. From an antique gallery shop ” Chang Ring” Manila, Philippines, with label and price erased (given as gift), bought in the 50’S -60’S and brought in the USA. Label : A Lime container in a shape of a carabao (water buffalo) with handcarved wooden tail; made of bone and wood with incised traditional design. MARINAO PEOPLE, LANAO DEL SUR, MINDANAO ISLAND. Handcrafted with a incised carving of a beetle, leaves and ornate traditional decor at the round tubular bone container. The handcarved wooden top is the head with horns and bone incised carvings ornate top decor. The container is encapsulated in a hard wooden handcarved frame of a water buffalo or “carabao” with an ornate tail and a simple rectangular stand. Measures: 8 1/2″ length, 4 1/2″ tall approximately 2 width. Great to excellent condition, there are no repairs. The wooden cap snuggles to the bone container. Please check photos for further evaluation. Collectible and surely belongs for us to a museum.
