This Has a Brass Basket Cross Guard with Leather Covered Wood Handle. The Sword Blade is Signed U. 1862″ on One Side, and “Prov. On The Other Side. The JM Inspector’s Mark is the Marking for John Maggs who Inspected Swords for the Civil War in 1862. This Sword is in Original Unrestored Condition with a Wonderful Aged Patina, As Pictured!!! The Sword measures approx. 40 3/4″ Long with a 34 3/4″ Blade. The Total Length of the Sword in Scabbard is 42 1/2. The Scabbard is the Original Steel Metal Scabbard with Two Loops. It is in Good Original Condition, as Pictured. The Sword Slides Nicely In and Out of the Scabbard! The Blade Has Darkened From Age and Has Some Pitting On the Top Part of The Sword.
