Antique Zenith vintage tube radio restored and working

Radio was recapped, all tubes tested and replaced as needed, chassis cleaned and controls lubricated. All brittle or exposed wires were replaced. New dial lights, power cord and external antenna for better sensitivity were installed. SW is more active late at night and may require an outdoor antenna. Cabinet was cleaned and hand rubbed with Finish Restorer. There are some minor wood blemishes (see pictures). Auxiliary speaker jack was installed by previous owner. One knob seems to be painted. Vintage old wood antique tube radio ZENITH model 6S527 Super nice

I just refinished this 1941 antique Zenith tube radio and it is very pretty. This is the popular Zenith mdl 6S527. It is 15.25″ long x 8.5″ tall x 7.25 deep. The cabinet is in excellent condition being that it has been refinished. There are beautiful wood grains and colors throughout the entire cabinet accented by the dark Walnut inlays. A super nice top with different grains and tones really catch your eye. The dial face is framed in and displays the large Zenith “Z” pointer. There are rounded corners and a big speaker grill. The three “Z” knobs have been cleaned and resealed. A built in factory installed “Loop” antenna receives stations very well across the dial. There are 5 functional push buttons as well and the brass housing around the buttons has been polished and resealed. There is a new dial cover, new dial lamps (2x), new AC Power cord, and new Filter/Audio capacitors installed. The tubes have been tested and the remaining components checked & replaced if needed. This is a wonderful example of the American Radio Industry waiting for you to display in your favorite place in the home or office. The radio plays and receives stations very well. There are no issues. The speaker is in excellent condition and has very good volume, tone, and clarity. Thank you very much for stopping in! Antique Zenith Tombstone Wood Case Tube Radio Model 10-S-130. Overall, an excellent original example. The radio plays well, but has not been restored. The bullseye tuning reacts to a strong signal. About 3-1/2 hrs to St Louis and Kansas City. Little over an hour to Branson Missouri. The thought of me sitting this on the counter and having someone ask me if it is fragile is a little bit worrysome to me. But here is what I will offer. Any claims for any reimbursements for damage or operational failure will be between you and the UPS. Also, note that there is not a Greyhound hub locally so UPS Store is the only option. Sparton Cobalt Blue Mirrored 558-B sled tube radio designed by Walter Dorwin Teague (well-known for his Kodak industrial designs). Manufactured by Sparks-Worthington Company in Jackson, Michigan c. 1937-39 Known as the sled or 4-knob one of the best examples of Deco Streamline style. Engraved to have the illusion of multiple pieces of glass on the front, top, and left mirror (which are just single pieces). Deluxe version of the model 557 (released in 1936). On the dial: Sparton, Jackson, Mich. As seen in the Henry Ford Museum, Museum of Fine Arts – Boston, and others. 2-band, 5-tube AC-powered super-heterodyne/superheterodynes. Tube line-up: 6A8G (mixer/LO), 6K7G (IF), 6Q7G 2. AF, 6F6G (AF power), 5Y3G (rectifier). Printed schematic can be sent upon request (or can be searched for easily online). This is the original design, and not the Crosley CR 38/Cr38-CD Replica. 4-knobs: Volume, Waveband selection, Tuning, and Tone/On/Off. One knob is not original (its obvious which). The other three are aged but intact: the silver rings remain attached. The rounded right front corner is decorated with 5 chrome metal fins (all with minimal pitting or chrome loss). Wood sled base painted with ebony nitrocellulose lacquer with some crystalline naptha lacing finish still visible. Front mirror shows some sign of flaking above 3. Knob, and also on the left within the engraving. Some specks on tops and side mirrors, difficult to be exact about condition since opinion is subjective, this 80+ year-old radio is in better condition than most might expect. See photos for more details. No immediate signs of refinishing/refurbishing. After appropriate tinkering, it should be ready to be enjoyed as-is, or refinished to perfection. Unit powers on, glows, and hums. No further testing or repair has been done. Tubes all appear intact. The price will be discounted on an incremental basis so if you are interested, definitely watch this item. The price will continue to go down until this sells. Vintage Zenith Radio, Model 9S262 Antique Console Tube Radio

Up for sale is this retro Zenith radio, model- 9S262. This radio started being manufactured in the year 1938. This radio is in fantastic condition. There are some light surface marks, but overall it looks amazing. The radio is missing two of the knobs on the front which can be seen in the pictures. The radio is currently not functioning. When plugged in the radio powers on and you can see the tubes light up. The motor for the auto tuning sounds like it is working. We truly don’t know much about this radio, but it seems like it would be an easy fix to get it into working condition. The radio comes with two insulators for the coils and a black knob. This is a very collectable 1939/40 6 tube radio and it is simply gorgeous. This is the popular model 40-125. The size is a great put anywhere 11″ long x 7.5″ tall x 7 deep. The cabinet is in beautiful condition and is very nicely refinished. There are very nice Walnut and Maple veneers. Nice dark colors and plenty of wood grains throughout. The dial face is excellent and has the popular winged design pointer. There are nice rounded corners and a very nice speaker grill. Additionally, you have the neat carrying handle which has a nice brass center strip. The three “Bullet” style knobs have been cleaned and resealed. The radio has six functional Push Buttons and there are new Station Call Letters installed in the brass Bracket. There is a new dial cover, new dial lamp, new AC Power cord, and new Filter/Audio capacitors installed. The 6 tubes have been tested and the remaining components were checked & replaced if needed. This is a wonderful example of the American Radio Industry waiting for you to display in your favorite place in the home or office. The radio plays and receives stations very well with no issues. The speaker is in excellent condition and has very good volume, tone, and clarity. These models are excellent players and great lookers! The radio also has a factory installed “Loop” Antenna which receives very well. No need for wires hanging out the rear. Performance will vary based on your location and signal strength. Antique Zenith “The Waltons” Tombstone Wood Case Tube Radio Model 9-S-232. Only includes what is pictured. Please review all the pictures closely. Please review all the pictures to determine the condition. Work was carried out on the restoration of the cabinet, polishing. The knobs are the original wood Zenith knobs. The speaker sounds great! Measures about 23 inches tall, by about 17 inches across, by about 12 1/2 inches wide.
