Victor Model 5 Phonograph. Condition is everything when it comes to antiques, therefore it is highly unlikely you will find a Victor Model 5 in such pristine condition. Produced in 1908, few survived in such condition. As seen, this phonograph has the original finish, and there are no dents scratches, no missing veneer or mechanical motor damage. The phonograph will play 12 – 78 rpm records powered by a spring motor. Just as today, technology was changing rapidly from Edisons wax cylinder recordings to the newer Edison 1/4 flat Diamond style records. Even with all the inventions Edison created, it was the thinner lighter weight records that took up less room that became the standard of the industry thanks to RCA who bought out Victors designs when they were going bankrupted. This fabulous Peter Pan Gramaphone works well. Based on the information on the original nameplate, it appears to have been made in France or for the French market. Original case shows wear, but the carry strap handle is still intact. All the parts are there and appear to be in good condition, and the music plays well when wound and a 78 RPM record is installed. A small envelope says Peter Pan Cameraphone, c. It contains 80 extra needles, which are hard to find. The original nameplate says “Peter Pan Brevete’, SGDG, Brevete’ Dans Tous Pays”. Victor Victrola Vic 3 antique phonograph player 10 turntable 2 spring motor. It’s a little difficult to read in the photo but the serial number is 3121. This Vic 3 is in great condition. The case looks beautiful. Just a couple of chips to some of the pillar pieces as you can see in the photos. The elbow has been painted silver and I think its either gold plated or just brass underneath. It has new felt on the turntable. The motor has been tuned up so it plays well. Also it has a rebuilt Exhibition reproducer that sounds great. The horn has a few dents but the paint looks pretty good for the age and the decal is very intact. ANTIQUE: EARLY 5 CYLINDER PHONOGRAPH UNMARKED – Brass Top – Piece was found attached as seen in photo and WAS TREADLE POWERED at the time of discovery. You are getting an antique unmarked early 5 cylinder phonograph (not complete as I understand) – that was treadle powered from the late 1800’s. Termites destroyed the table top that the phonograph was sitting on (see photos – showing the wood table top that was there before it had to be removed) – actual photos. It was part of a huge antique find recently that was caught up in legalities between two deceased antique collectors. Please look over all the photos as they are part of the description. The pieces are untampered with and just the way we found them. NOTE: This paragraph may have nothing to do with this item: This is one of the early dictating machines/phonographs of the 1870’s – 1890’s. Not sure what company or person was behind this one since it is unmarked… Edison, Bell, Tainter, Bell? The dictating machines of this time period used tin and wax over the cylinders. Some were also known as shavers, Dictaphones, or Graphophones. Tainter was the first, I believe, to put the phonograph on a sewing machine base and use the treadle to power the phonograph cylinder. This listing is for the top unit only – not the treadle base / sewing machine base that you see in the photos. You will get the item just as you see it in the photo. >the phonograph 18-1/2″W x 8-1/2″D x 9-1/2H (brass metal). The base with treadle is NOT included. Table top is NOT included.
