This is a slice of 12 pound Rail I brought back from Montana that was still in a old abandoned Gold/Silver Mine from the early 1900’s. Rail weight is measured by the Yard, 1 Yard of this is 12 pounds. This Piece of Rail was made in Illinois in 1937, in the Month of April. This Piece has the Rail Size(12#), Rail Length when it was made, State it was made in(Probably Chicago) and the Country(USA). I cleaned it up to almost its original condition and then applied a light coating of clear coat to help prevent any future rusting. I spent hours cleaning and conditioning it back to almost the condition it was made. Being a Railroader, this is probably the most collectible part of the Rail. It’s weights in at 71.10 ounces, In at just over 4 pounds of American Made Steel. Actual Length is 13 7/8 inches long and it’s 2 inches tall and 1 3/4 inches wide at the base.
