Antique Cure Bitters Bottle C Brinkerhoffs $1.00 Health Restorative, NY, 1840s
Description : An early Patent Medicine, Cure or Bitters Bottle, American, ca. Very crude, medium Olive Green glass with applied tapered mouth and large sand? Pontil scar on base. Lightly embossed on the adjacent flat panels: C. A relatively rare find in any condition. See Internet for further information on the maker. Condition : Slight wear noted on the base and upper rim, otherwise in Very Good to Excellent, undamaged condition. Heavy surface whittle throughout. No chips, cracks, open bursts or other excuses… Well, the embossing could be stronger, but this tends to be fairly typical on these Brinkerhoffs. Note: This bottle was photographed in natural light against a neutral background to show surface details, but it displays absolutely brilliantly on a backlit sill; expect several shades lighter, visible air inclusions, more pronounced embossing, etc. As shown in the primary photo. Very attractive green coloration and tremendous character with this Keeper! Approximate 1-Pint capacity; measures 7-1/8H x 3-1/8W x 2D overall. Nice weight at nearly 1lb (15oz). See photos for complete details and close-ups. Please consider them as part of the description. Good Luck, thanks for looking, and be sure to bookmark my Auctions, listed and ending daily.
