An EXTRA EARLY OPEN FRAME BIPOLAR MOTOR ELECTRIC FAN by the Ziegler Electric Company, Boston, Massachusetts. This fan, which is missing its original brass blade, is mounted on a rotating cast iron stand that retains nearly all of its original black japan finish and gold highlighting. The Ziegler Electric Company produced scientific demonstration apparatus in the late Nineteenth and early Twentieth Century. The final photo is a copy of the description of the motor from the 1896 catalogue of the Ziegler Electric Company.
