A fine 18th century lidded pewter tankard/flagon with ornate engraved stippling of an urn filled with tulips. The appropriate touch marks are present. The lid is engraved with the owners initials and dated 1762 within a laurel wreath. There is another old engraved set of initials on the turned bottom plate. Ignore the later engraved Made in Austria, it was a general requirement of goods imported into the US beginning in the late 19th century. The lid moves freely on its hinge and the flagon is in good condition overall.
