#1 1959 Ponytail Barbie in great condition! Very well kept for years! And tons of clothing collections! Barbie still has pretty good hair! I believe it’s still in the same ponytails she came with. Her bangs have never been brushed. She has the holes with tubes in her feet/legs. Her beautiful face is hand painted lightning bolt eyebrows! There is a tad bit of paint fading on her upper eyelids that stick out. Her body has minimal dark/dirt marks that I’m sure can come out if you know how to properly do it. The paint on her fingers and toes look good. No green on her ears. She comes in her original outfit; black and white bikini, white glasses, black heels with holes in the bottoms, and hoop earings. I read that her earings are supposed to be gold but many also have silver ones? Her bikini has a rip in the front seam as shown. It’s on the seam line so you can turn it inside out and stitch it up. She is in a 1961 Ponytail Barbie case. The case is still nice and sturdy. Some dirt/finger marks on it that too, if you know how to clean it properly, should come out. The case latches in the top and has a handle. The clothing included are all very early. Most have the “R” but one does have “TM”. I have taken pictures of each collection and included a photo of it from the booklet. Some are complete, some may be missing an item or two (mostly jewelry). #979- Friday Nite Date : corduroy dress with white blouse underneath. Tray and one cup, black shoes. #969 Suburban Shopper : Dress, cartwheel straw hat (tiny bit of fraying), fruit filled tote bag, white shoes. #975 Winter Holiday : “Leather” belted carcoat, striped cotton hooded shirt, plaid bag, mittons. I do have the belt, for some reason it didn’t make it in the photo. #963 Resort Set : Middy collar sailcloth jacket, striped shirt, shorts wedge shoes. Strap is broken on one shoe. This is the only one with TM on the label. #978 Let’s Dance : Blue and white dress, white purse, black heels. #977 Silken Flame : Strapless red dress; velveteen top, satin skirt (has some stains), gold purse and belt, black heels. #916 Commuter Set : This is probably the most popular, most expensive collection! It’s complete other than the bracelet. Two piece box jacket suit. Skirt, jacket, silky v-back white top, blue and white checker top, gloves, rope beaded necklace, black heels, white sheer gloves and red hat box marked TM! The hat box has damage and is missing it’s circular back piece. Even the hat is in excellent condition. #982 Solo In The Spotlight : Black strapless glitter gown, long gloves, pink scarf, black pumps. Also, the microphone (broken off at the top). #923 : Coral bikini, flower trimmed straw bag, pink, black and white shoes, black sunglasses. Some extras include: My date book, 5 year diary, ABC Cleaner, Certificate of Award, two telephones (the pink ones has the metal rotary dialer and cord came unstitched) an iron and the Barbie little booklet. Most outfits are in hardly played with condition. There is a box of shoes. There may not be enough black & white heels as needed to complete each outfit. 4 pairs of black heels, one pair of white, one pair of pink. There is an extra pair of platform white wedges but one straps is broken But they DO have holes in the bottoms! I hope I haven’t left anything out of this wonderful, extremely rare collection!
