ANOTHER SUPERB AND EXTREMELY RARE ROLEX MILITARY WATCH FIND FROM ANTIQUETIMEONLINE! A BEAUTIFUL 1940’S CAL 540 ROLEX MILITARY ISSUE BLACK DIAL POCKET WATCH. THIS TYPE OF ROLEX WATCH WAS USED DURING FIELD OPERATIONS. FULLY SERVICED AND READY TO WEAR! This is a stunning, and beautiful chrome two piece screw back and bezel watch case. The back and bottom of the case have the original military identification numers AND they all match, including the dial. The inside of the case back is FULLY SIGNED by ROLEX. The case is in good original condition for its advanced years showing light wear to parts of the case (see pics). The outside of the case back has some light normal wear and tear from service usage especially on the case sides where there are quite a few nicks. The watch measures 4.8cms (48mm) In diameter, excluding the crown. This is an absolutely lovely, and most importantly totally original fully signed black dial. The dial shows NO hairlines and is in good original condition. IT HAS A SMALL REPAIR JUST ABOVE 11 O’CLOCK. The dial is signed’ROLEX A13023′ It has gold painted lettering which says’Swiss Made’ on the bottom of the dial. It has gold painted Arabic and numerals bordered by a gold minute track which is in good original condition. The beautiful steel’cathedral’ style contemporary minute, hour and minute hands are in good condition with lume on them. This is a really lovely dial in excellent original condition. The crystal is brand new and as such it is in minty condition. This is a beautiful and absolutely ROLEX SIGNED GOOD GRADE 15 jewel cal 540 manual wind movement. It has a beautiful finish and is FULLY SIGNED on the top plate in a beautiful typesetting, showing its ROLEX roots. The watch winds smoothly and sets with good friction. It is in EXCELLENT running condition AND HAS JUST HAD A FULL SERVICE BY MY WATCHMAKER. The watch has kept time to +2/3 mins a day as tested over a 24 hour period. The chromed metal original crown looks genuine to the watch, and is in excellent condition showing NO plate loss. The chain ring is in good condition. THIS IS A NICE ROLEX MILITARY ISSUE TIMEPIECE.
