Here is an antique 19th century 8 day carved Black Forest table clock made in Germany or possibly Switzerland, in original condition, running only a minute or two before stopping, as pictured, cabinet surrounded by ivy garland, oak leaves , ferns and surmounted by large carved eagle with smaller bird in talons; movement could use a good cleaning/oiling and runs only a couple of minutes before stopping ; French time and strike Japy Freres movement has makers mark on back plate. Clock is offered as found and as pictured. Measures 30 tall 17 wide, about 7 deep. A large, extremely well carved clock. Losses are to leaf tip on reverse, eagle bill repair, small bird missing feet. Has original pendulum, replaced key. A large handsome addition to the finest clock collection. Impressive, huge, tallest and extremely rare organ steam whistle. Made by Schaeffer & Budenberg (S&B). Antique and impressive device from industrial age in amazing condition, with not even a small dent. Only small signals of use. Made in solid massive brass with great dark patina. It has not the american Schaeffer & Budenberg signature. This S&B signature indicates. It was made in Germany or United Kingdom. During second half of XIX century. Complete tall: 49 inches. Diameter of tube: 6.1/4 inches. It is untested, however all seems to be working. All defects not mentioned but visible in the pictures will be considered as described.
