While there are fine examples of both art and tourist items coming from this part of the world, this one is authentic. Notice the deep rich patina around the chin line. A lessor example can see on the forehead. Holes where the original straps once were are well worn. The bell-curve eye brows are indicative of the region. Give this big/long nose, the character is likely a: Buffoon, Clown or Servant character. An exceedingly rare, antique, ethnographic item! Approximately 5″ (with nose) X 7″ X 9 1/2.
