THIS IS A BEAUTIFUL ANTIQUE SLAG GLASS OVERLAY TABLE LAMP. IT STANDS APPROX 26 1/2″ TALL AND 19″ WIDE. THE LAMP SHADE HAS 6 SECTIONS OF CURVED BEIGE AND WHITE MARBLED SLAG GLASS AROUND THE TOP AND 6 SECTIONS OF FLAT MARBLED TURQUOISE, PURPLE AND BEIGE SLAG GLASS AROUND THE BOTTOM. THERE IS ONE SECTION OF THE BOTTOM THAT IS BROKEN IN TWO BUT IS MORE LIKE A HAIRLINE BREAK AND IS FAIRLY WELL HIDDEN BY THE OVERLAY BRASS. (SEE PHOTO) THE OVERLAY IS ANTIQUE BRASS AND REPEATS A WATER’S EDGE SCENE WITH A BRIDGE, TREES, AND WATER BIRDS. THE BASE IS ANTIQUE BRASS AS WELL WITH A RAISED BAMBOO, LEAF AND FLOWER PATTERN AROUND IT. IT WORKS AND TAKES TWO LIGHT BULBS WHICH ARE TURNED ON BY CHAIN SWITCH. (BULBS NOT INCLUDED) THE CORD ITSELF LOOKS LIKE IT HAS SOME WORN SPOTS ON IT AND THE PLUG LOOKS LIKE IT SHOULD BE REPLACED. THE PIECE IS VERY STUNNING BUT HAS BEEN STORED IN A GARAGE, UNCOVERED FOR MANY YEARS. IT IS IN NEED OF A GOOD CLEANING. THE GLASS IS HELD IN BY METAL TABS THAT CAN COULD BE BENT BACK TO ALLOW GLASS TO BE TAKEN OUT AND CLEANED. This listing is for the scenic slag glass lamp pictured. The lamp features a very ornate, bulbous base with an excellent original finish, sockets and pulls. The scenic shade is very unique. I’ve never seen another one in this design. It has 16 glass panels with the upper ones being caramel/green and the bottom border panels being blue. Also unique is the way the panels are held in. Many of these lamps have folding tabs that hold the panels in place but this one actually has full length dividers that are brazed into place making the panels solid and without gaps. The filigree design is missing one small tree in the center on a few of the panels. This is not very noticeable but PLEASE SEE ALL PICTURES> The lamp has good proportions at 23″ tall with the shade being 18″ wide.
