While the reverse displays attractive period craftsmanship and original construction. Although the exact issuing organisation has not been conclusively identified, the decoration is unquestionably an original late nineteenth-century European piece and represents an attractive addition to collections of antique medals, historical insignia, and European decorations. The frame features a warm antique gold finish, elaborate raised corner ornaments, a black interior mat/background, and an ornate cream and gilt oval portrait mount.
