These are sought after by crafters who make resin molds, plaster molds, silicone molds, food molds, polymer clay molds and jewelry molds from them as well as button and cabochon molds. Year: 1920’s vintage. Condition: Authentic vintage original condition. These are collectible unique steel impression die negatives, originally for use in the production of press molded glass buttons, beads or cabochons. The negative was intricately hand-engraved and was used to create the actual mold in a softer metal that would then be set in long metal pliers and used to hand press fancy glass buttons, beads or cabochons.
