DUPONT & CIE and A. LOONEN (Beauvais / Tracy-le-Mont). This is an exceptionally rare, beautifully complete 13-piece boudoir vanity dressing table collection. Originating from France during the transition between the late Edwardian/Art Nouveau era and early Art Deco, this set represents a magnificent time capsule of historical European personal grooming. The collection is crafted from premium early synthetic celluloid-historically referred to as “French Ivory” or Ivorine. The material was meticulously manufactured with parallel grain striations intentionally designed to mimic the exact warmth, texture, and look of genuine elephant ivory. Unlike the common domestic sets mass-produced in America during this era, this collection consists of genuine, high-end European imports. The core pieces proudly retain the original ink stamps of two of France’s most celebrated brush and luxury accessory powerhouses: E. Dupont & Cie and A. The Complete 13-Piece Inventory Breakdown. Hairbrush – Retains its authentic, clean natural boar bristles firmly set in the frame, decorated with the matching “GMS” monogram Approx. 9″ x 2.5″. Nail Buffer – Fully intact, secure chamois leather pad on its original backing, crisp-stamped with the prestigious E. DUPONT & CIE / FRANCE mark on the handle Approx. 6″ x 2.5″. Small Glove Button Hook – A delicate carved bovine bone handle, perfect for fine formal dress gloves. Cuticle Knife – A flat, sharp steel grooming edge set securely into a matching bone handle. Turned Cuticle Stick – A traditional, beautifully turned genuine bone stick (a classic period replacement). Exceptional antique condition given its 100+ year age. Material: Gorgeous, uniform creamy yellow ivory patina. Free of any heat degradation, severe warping, or major cracks. Bristles: The boar bristles on both the hairbrush and clothes brush remain remarkably clean, stiff, secure, and entirely usable. Glass Condition: The original hand mirror glass remains entirely intact and firmly secured within its frame. It offers a beautiful, clear reflection, though it exhibits a small spot of minor vintage silvering bubbling/spotting near the edge margin-a very common, natural sign of aging for authentic period mirrors that confirms its antique origin.
