This exceptional Native American Nez Perce “Sally Bag” is a beautiful example of traditional woven craftsmanship, made using finely prepared corn husks. A staple of Nez Perce culture, these bags were used for gathering seasonal plants and roots, making them both functional and decorative. The intricate weaving pattern and earthy tones reflect the deep connection the Nez Perce have with their natural surroundings. This piece is a remarkable testament to their skill and artistry. Our ultimate silver plated, covered, ice bucket, with mythical beings, animals, and cherubs, in three dimensional (applied) castings is exquisite and the perfect holiday gift for an important someone or to reward yourself. This ice bucket, with a hinged lid, is in excellent used condition with no dents or scratches. Made by JG& Sons, bearing their stamp on its base, the workmanship is far beyond an ice bucket I have owned or even seen. The quality of the work speaks for itself. In addition to repousse for the main body of the design, tridents is soldered on to the high points of two of the figures which are in high relief, adding further depth to this very “3D” presentation. In all, there are nine figures, each different surrounding the bucket completely, as well as sea serpents and foliage. This bucket is beautiful and unique from every view. The silver plating is intact and very shiny, making this piece difficult to photograph. There are no scratches or dents. The bucket stands eleven inches high to the top of the attached lid’s finial. The diameter of its’ base is six inches. The finial is attached to the lid with a screw base and a nut inside. The interior of the bucket is cleanly plated. With its’ excellent workmanship and classical theme, it will make a conversational focal point in any dining room or living room, you can be certain.
