Here is a beautiful yo-yo quilt hand stitched in what I believe are fabrics from the 1930s or 1940s. It measures approximately 78 by 89 inches, and is made up of 1.5-inch yo-yos. It has scalloped edges, and the two bottom corners are notched to hang properly on a full-size bed. A yo-yo quilt is not really a quilt in the traditional sense, because it has no batting or backing. It is meant to go over the top of a blanket or bedspread, which shows through the gaps between the circles (this was photographed on my blue bedspread). There are a few yo-yos that are frayed, and three need to be replaced entirely (see photos). Some of the stitches fastening the circles to each other have come undone (see photos). Howard & Co tower clock. Based on similar clocks found online, it looks like a #2 from around 1875. There is no ID plate on this clock and no visible serial number. Howard was known to paint the serial number on the end of the frame base of early clocks so it was possibly lost during a past cleaning or repainting. I would highly recommend seeing it in person if possible before purchasing. We have the ability to build a skid or crate if necessary, additional costs may apply depending on what you want. I have up for sale a wonderful restored antique circa late 1890s to early 1900s Cast Iron Round Oak Dowagiac , MI – P. Beckwith model D-18 Wood Burner Stove. No finial , its missing ornamental top piece but everything else appears to be present. The cylinder is in excellent shape, its approx 1/8 thick steel. There are a couple of trivial imperfections/ repairs as noted in the condition report. There is no nickel plating, its all black – any wear is meager. I will leave it loose , so its easier to handle and move around. Please contact me for a quote. They cover the most of the midwest going east. One of the feet has damage to the upper part, shown in the last pic. Pic #10 shows a weld repair on one of the foot rests. Erie #8 cast iron “spider” skillet. Yes, this is the real thing : Very good restored condition. A very rare “holy grail” item for cast iron collectors everywhere. Measures 11 1/8 inches wide at the spouts and 2 inches tall. Weighs in at only 2 pounds 12 ounces!! No chips or cracks. Sits flat on a glass surface with no wobble or spinning. The exterior surface is very very good. The spider logo is clear and crisp with very little wear. The interior surface does have some moderate pitting that can be seen in the photos. It isn’t perfect, but also doesn’t have the much higher price tag of the more perfect examples out there : Will make a great addition to any collection and will display nicely. About Cast Iron Archaeology. Restoring vintage and antique cast iron cookware is my passion. For me this is a labor of love. The difference between my cast iron and the others out there is the attention to detail. First, I strip it down to the bare iron with my all natural process. Then, I season each piece using a combination of beeswax and natural oils. Seasoning takes one hour at a time in a 450 degree oven and is repeated as many times as it takes to achieve that nice glossy coating. The entire process takes about a week to complete. This is a professional restoration done right from start to finish and I would put my cast iron up against any you can find online or anywhere else. Thank you for considering a product from Cast Iron Archaeology! Some as old as 120 plus years. And they have seen much use. They are not perfect. They will have utensil marks and small scrapes and nicks. We try to point out any significant abnormalities or damage in our listings. When it is stated that the skillet is flat, it means that there is no bow, wobble or spin. It is very rare that a vintage cast iron skillet will have absolutely no movement on a glass surface. Most were not perfect coming out of the foundry. There will likely be some small amount of movement on a flat surface. If the skillet is absolutely perfect I will definitely point that out.
