A Pair of Vintage World War Two Era. Having Leather as opposed to Fabric Surrounds these are an early example of this Type of Goggles. As employed in WWII by various branches of the Military, both British and Allies. Fabric Head-Strap intact, not elasticated, strong and serviceable. Amber Tinted Glass Laminated Lenses with supple Brown Leather Surrounds. Each Lens consists of two Pieces of Glass sandwiching an adhesive Amber Tinted Film, this also acts as a safety feature to minimize the spread of Glass fragments in case of breakage. Lenses are in excellent condition, with only very minor peripheral de-lamination in places as shown clearly, with only slight signs of age and use, no major damage, no visible scratches, no chips or cracks. Both Lenses are firmly in situ. There is nothing that compromises the view in use, the Amber tint is about the same as Sunglasses, not too dark and very effective. The Supple Brown Leather. Surrounds show only very minor patina of age and use, they have no major damage, splits or structural issues, they are vented to prevent the Lenses from misting up when worn. The Eye Surrounds are Sprung on an Internal Wire Frame, this is working as designed, they sit snugly against the Face. For a more comfortable and stable fit. All the stitching, seams etc are intact and strong. The Silver Metalwork is all structurally sound with just surface patination of age and use, it has no major damage or structural issues, no rot, dents, cracks or breaks.
