This is a very collectable 1939/40 6 tube radio and it is simply gorgeous. This is the popular model 40-125. The size is a great put anywhere 11″ long x 7.5″ tall x 7 deep. The cabinet is in beautiful condition and is very nicely refinished. There are very nice Walnut and Maple veneers. Nice dark colors and plenty of wood grains throughout. The dial face is excellent and has the popular winged design pointer. There are nice rounded corners and a very nice speaker grill. Additionally, you have the neat carrying handle which has a nice brass center strip. The three “Bullet” style knobs have been cleaned and resealed. The radio has six functional Push Buttons and there are new Station Call Letters installed in the brass Bracket. There is a new dial cover, new dial lamp, new AC Power cord, and new Filter/Audio capacitors installed. The 6 tubes have been tested and the remaining components were checked & replaced if needed. This is a wonderful example of the American Radio Industry waiting for you to display in your favorite place in the home or office. The radio plays and receives stations very well with no issues. The speaker is in excellent condition and has very good volume, tone, and clarity. These models are excellent players and great lookers! The radio also has a factory installed “Loop” Antenna which receives very well. No need for wires hanging out the rear. Performance will vary based on your location and signal strength.
